Reed POV“Well, I’m not sure how we managed, but we graduated,” Lucas says as he puts his arm around my shoulders as we were making our way out of the school for the last time. These last couple of years have been a struggle, but like Lucas said, we managed. After almost failing that second year of high school, Dad and Mom figured out we were not doing as well as they thought. We had tried to hide how badly we were doing, both of us in the opinion that we deserved to suffer for what we had done. In my opinion, Mom and Dad were more understanding than I think they should have been. Mom worked with us and an old college friend of hers to help get us in a better mental state over the summer. Dad helped us get back on track with our combat training and keep with it. Then, when school started back up, Mom worked with us to get our grades back under control and again stick with it. The rest of our lives still need some work. What Mom and her friend did with us throughout that one summer did
Heather POVWell, I did it. I graduated before the twins finished their Alpha training. Back in September when they had their first shift, I knew I needed to make sure I was done and out of here before they came back. I purposely stayed away from the packhouse that day. Luna Mona had invited me to be there but I didn't think it was a good idea. Just before I heard two new howls indicating that the twins had made it through their first shift, it was like something changed in the air that night. It was the same type of energy that we would experience when we were together near the look-out. I had an overpowering urge to go to them. I did everything I could to distract myself. I took a shower, put on a comfy pair of pajamas and my Dad's old sweater. As I sat at my desk trying to focus on writing the English essay that I needed to do for the final mark of my independent course, I could have sworn that they were outside Grandma's cottage. I had the feeling that they, well, more like their
Heather POV Flashback Winter Break “Ouch, Keegan. No stop. It hurts.” “You just need a bit more to drink and then we’ll go at it again.” “I don’t think I can. Maybe another time.” “No. Here, drink this. I told you before you came that if you showed up today this would happen. I told you once we started that you were not leaving until I was finished with you. I will tie you down and gage you if I have to, which can be fun too.” He says with a sexy little smirk on his face. “Maybe I should have started with something smaller.” I said as I threw back the shot that Keegan handed me, passing the glass back for a refill. I’m going to need to keep pounding them back if I’m going to get through this. At least with not having my wolf yet, it doesn’t take as much alcohol as it could. “Oh Heather, my sweet little thing, you surround yourself with large Alphas, Betas and Gammas, you don’t know how to do small.” Keegan says as he refills my glass and passes it back. I’m starting to feel a b
Flashback continued Heather POV “No Keegan. These are my rules and I need you to respect them. I still have about a year and a half until I turn eighteen. I will not change my mind on this, so please stop asking for things that I’m not willing to give.” I started to push him off of me so I could leave, but he wouldn’t move. “Keegan, please let me up.” I said, giving him another push. He moves back up so he is eye level with me. “I’m sorry Heather, please stay? It’s just that you are so sexy it is extremely difficult to control myself around you.” Keegan slides his hands behind me, cupping my ass and flips us, so that I’m now straddling his hips. “I’ll behave.” He says with a smile on his face as he moves his hands to my lower back under my shirt. I leaned forward, placing my hands on either side of Keegan’s head as I touched my lips to his. The warmth of his hands rubbing along my back and sides was so soothing that I didn’t realize that Keegan had slid one of his hands onto my a
Reed POV I pushed myself off the front of the truck, heading to the driver’s door. Lucas joins me in the cab, shaking his head. “Well I guess we’re going to a party tonight.” I mutter as I start the truck. “I just linked Mom and Dad. Heather is still at home. They are going to let us if she leaves before they do.” Lucas says as we pull out of the parking lot. The ride back to the pack house is quiet. I have no idea what could possibly be going on that would make Carter that jumpy. Whatever it was, he seemed to think that Heather may be in some kind of trouble and that was enough for me to know I needed to be there. She may still be upset with us, but there is no way I'm not going to be there if she needs me. Not like Rory would have it any other way either. I stand in the shower letting the hot water run down my back as I think about Heather. I’m so proud of her. It’s been just under a year since I saw her last. Sitting at her desk fresh from a shower doing homework. Lucas and I h
Luna Mona POVWhile Heather was getting ready for the party, Shane and I helped Lyla and Gavin clean up from dinner. We started discussing some of the things that I had discovered about the other families that were in the area at the time the curse was put on the family. Apparently, Lyla’s family wasn’t the only ones in the area that had a reputation for being witches. Lyla and I had spent the last three years trying to find out anything that we could about them. There are records of them settling in the area but a year later they were gone. We had been unable to find anything that indicated where they had gone. The only other reference that we had found was in Eleanor’s journal. She talked about one of the daughters who had had an interest in the Shaw twins. From what we understand, neither of these witch families knew about the Shaws being werewolves. We were not sure if Eleanor was referring to a daughter from one of the other families or her other granddaughter, since there was so
Lucas POV “Hey guys glad you made it.” Carter had a huge forced and fake smile plastered on his face. “Did you enjoy the first act of the show? I know the second wasn’t so great.” Carter is so much out of character right now that I'm surprised that the rest of his own pack members aren't looking at him funny. As Carter talked to us, he shook our hands. He's shaking them so enthusiastically that it feels as if he is trying to pull my arm out of the shocket. “Well, I should go make sure Liam is behaving himself. Hope you have a good time. It was nice to see you again if you end up leaving, without saying, good that’s ok.” With that, he walked off. “Ok, did that feel as... odd to you as it did to me? Did it sound as if he was hinting at us to leave? Why would he want us to leave so soon when he was the one that said we should be here?” I asked as I turned to see Reed looking at a piece of paper in his hand. “What is it?” “Carter passed it to me when he shook my hand.” I stepped in be
Possible Trauma TriggersHeather POVKeegan stood up, placed the washcloth on the nightstand beside my empty glass and leaned over me, placing his hands on either side of me on the bed. “I see you finished your drink. Do you want a refill?” I shook my head no. The smile he was giving me was starting to unnerve me. There is something very wrong. Come on, Heather focus. I told myself. “Ok, but I have another idea about what we can do. I know you enjoy our make-out sessions. We can start the whole friendship thing tomorrow. Just one more night of a little bit of fun.” He lightly brushed his lips with mine.I leaned away from him. "I don't know if that is a good idea, Keegan."He leaned in again, placing another small kiss on my lips."Please," he pleaded. "Think of it as a good-bye make-out session." I lost focus on what he was saying for a few seconds. My mind going a little fuzzy. So when I didn’t protest, he pushed a little harder, causing me to lie back onto the bed. "Or you could jus
