Chapter 104

Reed POV

“Well, I’m not sure how we managed, but we graduated,” Lucas says as he puts his arm around my shoulders as we were making our way out of the school for the last time. These last couple of years have been a struggle, but like Lucas said, we managed. After almost failing that second year of high school, Dad and Mom figured out we were not doing as well as they thought. We had tried to hide how badly we were doing, both of us in the opinion that we deserved to suffer for what we had done. In my opinion, Mom and Dad were more understanding than I think they should have been. Mom worked with us and an old college friend of hers to help get us in a better mental state over the summer. Dad helped us get back on track with our combat training and keep with it. Then, when school started back up, Mom worked with us to get our grades back under control and again stick with it. The rest of our lives still need some work. What Mom and her friend did with us throughout that one summer did
