Chapter 3: Escaped and Got Caught

I couldn't control myself. I should have pushed Jayden away and run because this was my chance to escape while he was drunk too.

But I was enjoying our kiss too. And he seems to be enjoying it just as much as I am. 

I feel like I'm betraying myself for liking this with Jayden, even though I promised myself not to sleep with any man until I'm married. 

We were both out of breath and finally pulled away for a moment. Our eyes searched each other for the conviction that we would continue again. 

He wrapped his arms around my waist. And then Jayden buried his face in my neck and started kissing me again.

I felt something heavy on top of my stomach. When I opened my eyes, that's when I knew it was Jayden's hand. He had his hand wrapped around my stomach. 

I moved his hand carefully so as not to wake up. He doesn't look as scary when he closes his eyes like this. 

All of this had happened and it wasn't a dream. Because when I opened the blanket covering my body, I found myself wearing nothing. This is really bad. 

But I don't want to keep serving another man. This is the first and last time. 

So I quickly got dressed, ignoring the pain throughout my body. 

I'm going to run away from this place and live the life I want. I was going to start all over again. 

I picked up the coat and put it on. Also took some money to survive until I could get a job.

Then I took Jayden's clothes, strung them together to form a long rope, and tied it at the foot of the bed. I threw this long cloth out the window. 

I took a deep breath, then my feet climbed up the balcony trellis. Before I start to climb down, I see Jayden's face once more. I memorized that face and was going to avoid him.

2 Weeks Later

I vomited back the food I had just eaten. It's been two days since I vomited every morning and this morning I decided to take a pregnancy test. 

Even though I don't want this pregnancy, I can't be denial. Because the day that Jayden and I had our one night stand was my fertile period this month. 

I bit my lip tightly waiting for the test results. And it turns out my guess was right, I'm pregnant. 

I squeezed the test-pack, wondering how I was going to survive with this baby while I was also hiding from Madam Elie. I don't want to go back there and be sold as a prostitute.

But it's no better out here. The only way I can survive is by asking Jayden to take responsibility. I'll tell him that I'm pregnant so he'll pay for the pregnancy and the child in my belly. He was the father after all, regardless of our one-night stand.

I have to ask Jayden for money so that I can live with this child. Since I couldn't abort it, I didn't want to take another life.

Right now I only have these clothes I'm wearing, Jayden's thick coat and some money I stole from him. Unfortunately this money will run out for today, so no matter what I have to meet him today.

Before exiting the alley, I covered my face with the hat I picked up from the discarded clothes. 

I confidently walk down the street. Even though I don't know where Jayden is at the moment, I'm sure I can find him. 

Pack Nexus, this place is like hell to me. There's no one I can ask for help here. There's no home to go to when I'm tired after a long day of traveling around outside. Only empty buildings, without proper equipment, that have been abandoned by their owners, are my home here. 

Although my life in Pack Arcanum wasn't always happy, but there I could find some happiness of my own, one of which was when I treated my patients.

I took a deep breath, trying to accept that this was my life now.

But suddenly some woman bumped into me from behind and I fell forward. Fortunately, it wasn't my stomach that hit the ground first. 

I wanted to yell at them, but my attention was drawn to the leaflets that fell on the ground. 

I picked one up and turned it over. 

What I saw this time made me think very hard. This paper had a big title 'Alpha Jayden is Looking for Luna'. 

Alpha Jayden? The name is familiar, just like the Jayden I was looking for. But this must be a coincidence.

Sadly, what was later displayed on a large billboard in the building in front of me confirmed what I thought was a coincidence.

Jayden, the man I slept with that night and the father of the child in my belly was an Alpha! 

Oh my Gosh! What have I done! 

I seriously didn't know that he was an Alpha, I just thought he was a regular guy who was so rich that he was feared by those guys. 

If it comes to this, there's no way I'm going to approach him for responsibility. He'll know right away that I'm not an official member of Pack Nexus and am still a member of Pack Arcanum who was brought here by force to become a prostitute. 

He'd probably kill me if he found out I was a trespasser!

Although it wasn't my will to come here, but I can't be seen again in his eyes. Yes, I have to hide. 

I.... I'll think of another way to survive. 

So I decided to move away from the crowd, into a narrow alley between the tall buildings here. I rubbed my face in frustration. I now realize why they yelled at me when the vase I threw that night hit Jayden. I also finally understood why he was called a VVIP guest there.

“Stupid Cassie! You made a big mistake.” I sat down on the ground and looked down as my stomach felt a little bad. 

Ah damn it! If I wasn't drunk and under the influence of drugs, I would have been able to escape and this mess wouldn't have happened.

“Hey it's her! That's right, she's that woman!” 

Several burly men pointed at me. Damn it, they must be Madam Elie's men. 

I immediately ran to avoid being caught. Because if I was caught, then my life was over right there. 

I was breathing heavily, running while pregnant wasn't easy. But I couldn't stop, at least I had to find someone who could help me from them. Whoever it is, I can't be picky right now.

So when I saw the only car with a driver in it, I immediately tapped on the glass. “Please let me in, there are some strangers after me, please.”

Surprisingly, he opened the passenger door and I got in. But then I smelled the exact same odor that Jayden smelled that night and I immediately threw up. 

“There you are, Cassandra Suri Jane,” said a deep, heavy voice. 

I looked up, shocked to see Jayden, no, I mean, Alpha Jayden was the man behind the wheel. 

I instantly backed away to avoid him, but he looked at me intently. “I finally found you too.”

Oh no, is he going to punish me for stealing his money? Or did he already know I wasn't a Pack Nexus member? Or was he going to kick me out of the car because I puked on his car?

I held my breath as he touched my hair. “You were very brave that night, but why are you scared now?”

I swallowed hard. How could I not be scared? The one in front of me was an Alpha and I knew I did him wrong by stealing his stuff!

I tried to gather all the courage I had to answer him. “Who are you? I don't know you.” 

He started to drive the car so the men wouldn't chase me anymore. But it seems I was very unlucky because I went out of the crocodile's cage and into the lion's mouth.

He laughed at my answer. “Do you really not recognize me? I guess you don't have amnesia because you also brought my coat and my money with you.” 

I reflexively looked at the coat I was wearing. It was over, I couldn't dodge anymore. 

I took a deep breath, trying to remain calm even though it was very difficult. “Alright, I'll return your coat and the money I brought.” I was about to take off the coat I was wearing but he held my hand. “I really don't have anything other than the coat and the money of yours. So there's no use if you arrest me. My life is also worthless to you.”

“Do you know who I am?” he asked in a cold voice. 

I shook my head quickly, pretending not to know. “All I know is that you're the man who bought me from that pimp and you forced me to sleep with you that night!”

He stared ahead and shook his head meaningfully. “I didn't force you.”

“You're a doctor from Pack Arcanum, daughter of Smith, a man who lives to get drunk and cause trouble. And you don't have a wolf inside you. You were sold to a pimp to pay your father's debts.” He said everything about me. Absolutely everything that managed to make me gape. 

He.... how much did he know about me? Did he also already know I was carrying his child?

He gave me a sharp glance through the center mirror. “I know everything about you. I also know you're carrying my child.” He stopped the car abruptly. 

What should I do now! He already knows everything, he'll still find me if I run away again. This was making me very frustrated. 

“How did you know I was carrying your child? You're just talking nonsense,” I snapped.

But he quickly held my hand. “I can read your future. I read it while you were sleeping, before you ran away that night. And I saw myself in your future. Although it's not clear, but I'm sure the child in your belly is mine.”

I really was over, there was no way out anymore. I could only squeeze the car seat with my nails.

“It seems like you already know who I am. So I'll get straight to the point.” Alpha Jayden took out a large brown envelope from a small suitcase. “Read it carefully.”

I quickly opened the envelope and read the contents.

What! A contract marriage? He's asking me to have a contract marriage with him?

“As you read, I want you to marry me with a contractual agreement. This is not an offer, but an order. Because, I will return you to Pack Arcanum if you refuse. You might end up in the hands of that pimp again.” Alpha Jayden said firmly to me, undeniable.

Why do I have to sleep with him?

Why are all these problems coming at me too? Starting from being sold by my father to replace his debt, accidentally killing someone, having a one night stand with Alpha Pack Nexus, and now I have to get into a contract marriage too. Is my life just to accept all this suffering?

“Don't tell me your life is worthless because now you're carrying my child.” He pointed at my still-flat stomach. “I want that child. After the child is born, I will divorce you and you can be free with the wealth I gave you.”
