Chapter 6: I Won't Let You Go

It seemed like she lost her mind. 

Even her life doesn't mean anything to her anymore.

She looked so frustrated.

Cassie, she was a completely different woman, she wasn't afraid of death. 

“Goodbye, Alpha Jayden.”

Unfortunately, I won't let her end her life. I will be the one who always prevents her death. 

I won't let her die because she is the woman who broke my curse. 

Cassandra Suri Jane, you are a myth come true. And how lucky I am that you came to me on your own.

Now I can prove to that witch that what she said was wrong, she was mistaken for believing that there would be no she wolves with healing abilities like you. 

I moved quickly to grab the scissors. 

Sadly it had already injured her though not too badly. 

Her body went limp and I caught her. "What's on your mind? If you don't want your life, then give it to the child in your belly. It's innocent and doesn't deserve to have its life taken away."

Her anger-filled eyes stared at me boldly, no fear at all like before. “Why did you let me live?”

I smiled wanly, "it is obvious because you carry my child, my offspring, the successor to my throne. And you are my luna."

She pushed me away but this time I didn't let her go. I picked her up Brydal style and put her on the bed. 

That look of panic was back again. “What are you going to do asshole!”

That look of panic returned again. “What are you going to do asshole!”

I raised one eyebrow, “What the hell do you think I'm going to do?”

She threw a pillow and bolster at me.

It was funny, she was acting so brave and challenging me earlier. But when I called her bluff, she panicked.

She must know that I rarely play games with my words and actions, so if she was going to play games with me, then I could play games with her too.

I grabbed both her hands and brought them above her head.

2 weeks ago, I still remember doing the same thing to her, where we ‘did it’.

We were both lost and couldn't fight the urge of the wolf inside us.

And as it turned out, that one night stand resulted a child that I've been waiting for all this years.

2 years had passed since I was inducted into Alpha and there was only one year left for me to be in this position if I didn't have any offspring.

I wanted a child so badly because I needed to have an inheritor, that way the throne of Pack Nexus wouldn't fall to my bastard stepbrother.

“Let go of me!” Cassie yelled in front of my face.

“I won't let you escape again-”

A sticky liquid stuck to my cheek.

Cassie spat at me.

“Unfortunately I won't step back even if you spit on me.”

There was only one way to make her stay by my side and never be able to leave me, and that was by marking her.

Cassie, you left me with no other choice. So don't blame me since you're also agreed to get married on contract with me.

Before doing it, I looked into her eyes once more and wiped the spit on my cheek.

"I hate you! You're evil! You just want to use me!"

I silenced her lips by kissing it.

She flinched, her eyes bulging. What a cute expression.

“Argh.” I let go of her kiss.

Damn, she bit my tongue and now it's bleeding.

She laughed and was about to spit on me again, but before she could do so, I kissed her again.

This time I'll make sure she can't spit on me, I'll sip her spit until she has trouble swallowing it.

The rusty iron flavor filled our mouths because of the blood mixed with saliva.

She began to close her eyes. Does that mean she's getting lulled?

I had to make the most of this moment.

So I switched from kissing her lips to her neck.

I deeply sucked in the scent that floated from her body. It was like the scent of canalo flowers in spring.

This was the first time I had ever smelled a scent like this, a rare and intoxicating scent.

I searched her left neck, but I didn't find what I was looking for. So I turned to the right side.

And that's where I found the spot. Her pheromone gland area.

Without hesitation I bit that spot.

I didn't think it would be this easy to do.

“Don't do that,” Cassie said. Her voice became quieter than before.

But it was already too late. I couldn't stop myself. The scent had dragged me deeper, making my head dizzy.

I just wanted her to know that I meant what I said.

I looked up briefly to see her. It turned out that her eyes were already half closed and her breathing was labored.

It looked like I had almost succeeded in marking her.

So I bit her again, transferring my pheromones so that it could meet hers so that we could become one and bond.

She would be mine forever from now on and vice versa.

In order to save Pack Nexus, I was willing to do this with a woman I didn't know who was a prostitute at the nightclub.

But wait, there's something strange.

I'd been biting her for a while, but why wasn't I smelling our combined pheromones? Instead, I'm still smelling my scent and her scent separately.

What's going on?

I moved my head away from her neck and looked at her who had closed her eyes completely.

“Hey, are you sleeping?”

She didn't answer.

So I put my finger in front of her nose, she was still breathing.

There was no way she had passed out when the tagging hadn't worked.

What the hell is going on? This was very strange.

I quickly moved away from above her body. I lightly patted her cheek. "Cassandra? Did you hear me?"

She was still silent. She was like she was dead.

That's starting to make me panic.

She's not really dead right?

"Cassie, wake up. I haven't even managed to tag you yet."

I did everything I could to wake her up from patting her cheeks, kissing her face all over, to putting her head on my lap, but it still didn't wake her up.

Something wrong had happened.

I didn't want it to be like earlier, when she vomited blood suddenly.

“Doctor....”

Yes, she needs to be treated immediately!

“Hurry and get a doctor!” I shouted to my bodyguards outside the room.

“This is something new in my entire career of being your mother's family doctor, Alpha Jayden,” said Bram, the doctor who examined Cassie. He had already examined Cassie and found no signs of anything strange going on.

I chose him to examine Cassie because if I had used the doctor provided by father, then the news of my bride fainting when I was about to mark her would have instantly spread throughout the Pack.

“Then what made her suddenly unconscious?”

I sighed and looked at Cassie who was lying limply on the bed.

Everything happened so fast. Earlier I still saw her pink lips but now it was already so pale.

“I'm sorry, you said it happened when you wanted to mark her right?”

I nodded, "yes, she suddenly fainted. And I don't think I've managed to tag her yet. So isn't that strange?

”I feel that way too, but if the marking hasn't been successful, then there won't be any side effects," he explained.

That's why I was confused too.

Even the night we had sex, she didn't faint, but why would she faint now when I hadn't done anything to hurt her?

And actually, if I think about it, this wasn't the only weird thing that happened to Cassie.

She suddenly gained her strength after vomiting blood. And her pheromone scent was much stronger than that night.

“Is there something you suspect about Alpha Jayden?

“Did it happen because she just got her ability?”

"Sorry, what do you mean? I don't understand."

Was I doing the right thing by telling Doctor Bram about this? But I really needed to explain the chronology so that Cassie could be treated.

“Don't leak this information to anyone or your life is at risk, doc.”

Doctor Bram looked down. “I dedicated my life to your mother's family and you are one of the descendants of the Alexander family, so there is no reason for me to share this information with anyone.”

“Good.” I approached Cassie and removed the hair that was covering her face.

"She just got her ability and her wolf tonight, during the wedding banquet. Her pheromone scent also became stronger than before. So does that have anything to do with her current state, doc?"

Doctor Bram looked shocked at my explanation. He had to confirm Cassie's heartbeat for the second time.

With a worried expression, he finally gave an explanation that I could understand, "It seems that Luna Cassandra is just adapting to her ability and your pheromones are messing with hers. If two pheromones are put together, then there must be one that yields. In this case it looks like Luna Cassie's pheromones are trying to counter yours, Alpha Jayden."

That was impossible. How could a Gamma fight against my pheromones?

I've looked up everything about Cassie and found out that she is a Gamma. So how could that be possible?

Throughout history a Gamma is weaker than an Alpha. And in this case, why would Cassie be any different?
