Chapter 10: Talking with Her Wolf

I heard a voice calling her name. 

I was very sensitive to hearing that name called because she was me and I was her. 

We were connected to each other in an inseparable bond. And after 25 years of waiting, I was finally able to make my presence known to her, to Cassie. 

My first appearance was originally just to let her know that I existed within her. I wanted her to know that I wasn't a legend to her and that she wasn't that weak. 

But it turned out that I had to do another task. 

So when she swallowed the poison, I helped her. At the same time, I signaled to her that there was another soul living inside her, and that was me. 

I think she knows now that I've awakened because she has also realized my power, which is healing. 

That power belongs to me, to my soul, not hers. That's practically how it is. 

But because of that man, the man who only wanted to use Cassie, Cassie and I became weak. 

He wanted to mark Cassie but his pheromone was poisonous to us. And that's what caused Cassie to be unconscious until now and only me to guard her body. 

Unfortunately without Cassie's consciousness, I couldn't do anything. I'm trapped inside her body for eternity and will never be able to get out. 

That man called Jayden kept calling Cassie's name, it was so noisy. 

I got sick of him constantly calling Cassie's name, so I decided to call Cassie too. 

After the medicine from the Ucalda plant was given, I could slowly feel that Cassie's consciousness started to return. 

The medicine also brought back my strength, so I was able to help Cassie get rid of that man's pheromones. 

But I wasn't going to let Cassie be used by him, I was going to take over temporarily until things were really good for her, then I would step back and let Cassie lead this body. 

I shouted loudly, “Cassie, wake up, we're free of those pheromones for now.”

This time it worked, Cassie listened to me. She was about to open her eyes. 

But that man boldly grabbed Cassie, and even hugged her!

“Thank goodness you survived. You almost lost your life.”

That's also because of you, shitty man!

Cassie wouldn't have been weak if you hadn't bitten her. You injected your pheromones through your bite on her neck so that Cassie and I almost froze in this body. 

I had to teach that guy a lesson so that he wouldn't mark Cassie so carelessly. 

I controlled Cassie's body. I pushed that man away. 

“What's wrong? Does something hurt?”

“I don't like your smell,” I said. 

He had a smell like Ambroxan, Cedar, and Labdanum all mixed together. 

I wonder why Cassie would be attracted to that scent on their first meeting! 

If it was me, I wouldn't have fallen for that scent so easily. 

He kissed his body. “Do you smell blood? I just had a fight with a rogue-”

“No, I don't like the scent of your body not the scent of rogue's blood,” I said quickly. 

Everyone stared at Cassie because of my answer. 

Hey! What's wrong with you guys? Are you like Cassie who admires that scent or are you afraid of the man you call Alpha?

“Ah I see, well, I'll move away from you a little,” he said. He took a few steps back. 

“Not far enough,” I said. I pointed at the large tree behind him. “If you stand there, maybe I won't smell you anymore.”

He looked back, at the tree I pointed to. 

“Let's hurry.”

“Isn't that too far? What if a rogue comes here?”

I made Cassie raise her hand. “Didn't you kill them all?”

“Yes, that's true, but-”

“So there's nothing to be afraid of right? Even if a rogue appears, you'll definitely kill it,” I explained.

I wanted to laugh now, seeing how shocked his face looked when he heard my answer. 

I told you, I'm not Cassie, I'm Stephanie who's more annoying than Cassie.

I can frustrate him if he doesn't do what I want. 

He sighed, “alright, I'll stay away from you for a while. But since you're already fine, we'll go straight back to the ship before nightfall.”

He looked at his guards. “Quickly bring all the equipment back, I'll lead the way.”

“Yes Alpha Jayden,” all the bodyguards replied in unison. 

Alpha Jayden, ah yes, that man also has a name. 

But should I call him by his name? Ugh, I won't get used to it. 

“Luna Cassandra, please walk behind me. Although I'm keeping my distance from you, you can't go too far or I'll think you're trying to escape after I saved you,” he said. 

Run away? Of course not. More precisely, not yet. 

If Cassie was in control of this body right now, then perhaps she would have taken this opportunity to run away, but I didn't. 

There are still things that need to be taken care of. This man needs to be taught a lesson. 

And why did he call me by my full first name?

Cassie? Is that a special nickname? I hope not. I hope it's just to make it easier to call me. 

Ah well, I won't think about it. 

I looked back, the ones who should be entitled to a thank you from me are the elder and the doctor, not the Alpha in front of me!

“Thank you for your help in saving me,” I said to the elder and doctor. 

They bowed respectfully. 

“We are honored to help you, Luna Cassandra,” the elder said. 

I knew that, but this man in front of me didn't seem to. So I plucked the origin of a fruit and threw it at his back. 

“Luna is dangerous!”

The elder and doctor shouted. 

And then that man looked back. “What are you-” Then he ran up to me and grabbed my hand. 

“Let go,” I said firmly. 

He didn't listen to me, but scrutinized my hand as if he was looking at gold among the piles of earth. “You just held a poisonous fruit.”

What? Poisonous fruit? 

Ah shit, I just felt the itch. 

“Look at your hand turning red. You could have been killed if you carelessly held something here!” He blew on my hand. 

I laughed because he was so stupid. 

Did he think my hand would stop itching because he blew on it? 

What a stupid man.

“Doctor, did the fruit have an immediate effect on her brain? Why is she laughing all of a sudden?” 

The doctor who heard the stupid question stifled his laughter. Not only the doctor, but also everyone on this trip was holding back laughter. 

This guy really is! 

I couldn't stand it anymore, I pushed his body away. “I can heal myself. And you.... better keep your distance,” I said with emphasis. 

“Well look who's the arrogant one here.” He looked so frustrated that he scrunched up his waist and shook his head. 

“Why? Facts, right?” I showed him my palm that had returned to its original state. “Look closely, it's healed!”

He actually glared at my hand. 

“Just so you know, that fruit is only poisonous, it doesn't make people stupid!” I snapped. 

He looked at me and then seemed to stifle his laughter. 

Damn it, did he think it was funny?

“Don't hold back your laughter! There's nothing funny about it!”

“Whatever, you laughed out of the blue too,” he replied. 

If we were on a ship, I'd probably push him overboard.

I really couldn't believe that Cassie believed that man could protect her. And to make matters worse, Cassie was willing to enter into a contract marriage with such an obscure man. 

You have bad taste Cassie. Did you hear this? You have bad taste in men!

“Do you want to stay there until the evening? Or do you want to stay overnight on the island?”

I stomped my foot irritably and pushed his body aside. 

I wanted to walk ahead instead of following a man I couldn't trust!

“It seems Luna Cassandra has returned to her original state.”

“You're right elder, it looks like Luna Cassandra is completely healthy.”

That elder and that doctor.... argh, they're just the same.

I quickened my pace towards the ship leaning against the dock. Sometimes I wanted to pick up the wild fruit again and throw it to Jayden to let him know the taste.

Wait, did I just say his name?

That can't happen, I can't say that annoying guy's name! 

I'm not like Cassie, I don't give in easily. And that guy has awakened my inner child. 

Unfortunately due to not paying attention to the path, my foot tripped over something. 

I thought I was going to fall on the ground, but in fact, my body was embraced by someone's burly body. 

When I saw who it was, I immediately shouted, “Let me go pervert!”

“Pervert?” he asked in complete shock. 

Since he was still hugging me, I was about to push him again. But sadly I suddenly had no more control in this body. 

I could slowly feel that Cassie was starting to control this body. 

This woman, can't she let me take a little longer?

Damn, I have to take another long sleep.
