Chapter 7

A short silence filled the room. The surprise in Jackie's eyes disappeared when she met Joshua's eyes.

Even I could sense Joshua's hesitation when I brought up divorce. Soon, he laughed. "Oh, are you getting a divorce? You won't have the heart to do that. Are you playing hard to get? Too bad I'll never fall for your tricks. If a divorce is what you want, I'll grant your wish."

I let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, we did not have much savings in our two years of marriage. We each had a title deed under our names, but those were premarital assets. As for the car we shared, we would sell it and divide the profits.

I felt thankful for Joshua's personality—I knew that he would not attempt to stay in touch with me after the divorce.

I calmly laid out the details of the asset division.

Joshua exclaimed, "Woah, are you really planning to see it through? Anyway, I have a condition to divorce."

"What condition?"

"You and your family need to apologize to Jackie."
