Soon, the sonographer arrived at the ER. His expression grew somber after scanning my stomach with equipment. He grumbled, "Why are you guys only getting help now? She is in a bad state. Call the surgical department and get her a consultation."

The blood test results came back after I got the ultrasound done. Lucas nearly collapsed when he read the results.

The surgeon arrived late. After he checked the results, he announced, "She needs surgery or she'll lose her pancreas."

The color drained from Lucas' face. In my past life, my condition did not worsen as I received medical treatment in time. I briefly looked up my condition online and learned that the doctors would not suggest surgery except for serious cases.

Judging from the adamant attitude of the surgeon, I must have been one of the severe cases.

I needed to complete the paperwork for hospitalization and get my family to sign my surgery consent form. Lucas tried to reach out to Joshua, but Joshua and Jackie hung up on him. H
