Damien

I paced around the waiting room, trying to keep my calm but I couldn’t. Alison has been in the emergency room for the past fifteen minutes.

I was losing my mind, and it was strange because I never lost my mind about anything. Even at gunpoint I stood firm, not caring about the consequences, but here I was afraid of losing someone I barely knew.

What has Alison done to me? I was gradually becoming a shadow of myself, letting my emotions rule over my strong judgment and beliefs. It was frustrating just thinking about it. I couldn’t continue like this. I had to do something, but what?

I knew the only way to stop me from acting this way was to get rid of Alison, but was I ready to do that?

I couldn’t bring myself to answer that because I knew the answer would only remind me of my weakness.

I pulled myself out of my thoughts, and my eyes glanced at the door. It was closed.

I sighed, leaning against the wall. Involuntarily, my mind traveled to our moment at the mansion, taking me back to the feeling of her wetness dripping down my fingers, and the softness of her round arse, which I wanted to bury my face in.

I groaned, throwing my hands on my temple. Maybe when I finally fuck her, I wouldn’t feel like this anymore.

It was during that moment; I sighted the doctor stepping out of the door.

Without hesitation, I approached him.

“How’s she doing?” I asked with a firm expression on my face.

The doctor was hesitant, and the look on his face made my stomach rumble. I tried not to think of the worse things but I couldn’t.

My heart raced faster than before and I found myself clutching onto my chest. Once again, I was losing my mind.

“Did something terrible happen?” I asked, managing to get a grip on myself.

The doctor nodded. “Alison’s in critical condition. She’s lost a lot of blood, but I’ll do everything I can to save her.”

I stepped closer. His words had rattled something within me. “You better do as you say. Or I swear I’ll burn this place down.”

His eyes widened, and without another word, he hurried past me. A few minutes later, he came back holding a tray of equipment.

I glared at him as he passed. “Don’t forget what I said.”

He nodded quickly and disappeared into the ER. I kept pacing the waiting room, anxiety clawing at me.

Minutes later, I saw a nurse rush out of the ER, speaking quietly to another nurse.

My stomach dropped. I had a bad feeling about this.

“Is something wrong?” I asked, walking toward them.

The first nurse hesitated, looking at the other nurse.

“You better speak!” I said with my voice coming out louder than I intended.

“Sir, this is a professional space and I would advise you to keep you voice low.” The second nurse said, and I growled. I felt like dragging her across the room and slapping the foundation of her puffy face, but I kept my cool, reminding myself that I was at the hospital.

“I’m sorry. I just want to know if there're any issues with the lady in the ER.”

“Actually, there is.” The first nurse spout up. “We need more blood for her.”

The other nurse added. “And her blood type isn’t available.”

“Then test mine!” I spoke up. My voice came out rushed and fast before I could process what I said. It was too late.

The nurses exchanged glances before one of them led me to a room. After testing, the nurse confirmed, “It’s a match.”

They drew my blood, and as soon as it was done, I went back to the waiting room. For the first time since I got here, I sat down. I guess my anxiety was weighing me down badly.

A little boy and his mom stepped into the waiting room a few minutes later. He stayed close to her at first, but eventually wandered over to me.

“Hey, I’m Adam!” He greeted, with a bright smile. His mop of blonde curls that sat on his head swerved as he sat down close to me.

I never really liked kids. So I ignored him, turning to face to the window, which suddenly appeared far more interesting .

“Do you believe in miracles?” he asked. His words suddenly caught my attention and swiftly I turned my attention back to him.

He smiled brightly, speaking up despite my silence. “It’s okay if you don’t believe in miracles, but I do.”

He leaned forward as if to whisper. “My brother’s in the other emergency room. He’s going to be okay—I just know it.”

Before I could respond, his mom called him. “Adam, come here.”

He ran back to her, but his words stuck with me.

I whispered to myself, “I do believe in miracles and because of that Alison is going to be okay.”

Not long after, the doctor came out. His face wasn’t as grim as the last time. “Alison’s out of danger,” he said.

I felt a sudden wave of calm wash over. “Can I see her?” I asked.

“We are trying to move her to another room. I’ll let you know when you can,” he said.

“Thank you,” I said in a soft tone.

Minutes later, a nurse came to get me. She led me down the hall, and when we reached the room, my eyes landed on Alison. She looked so fragile, lying there unconscious.

The minute the nurse left, I went straight to her, brushing her hair back and letting my hand rest on her cheek. My heart ached, but I couldn’t look away.

The door opened, and I turned to see the doctor. “How long until she wakes up?”

“Soon,” he said gently.

“Thank you,” I said again.

When he left, I leaned in close to Alison, running my hands through her hair once again.

“I don’t know what spell you’ve got me under,” I drawled. “But it’s working.”

AlisonThe creak of the door opening pulled my attention, and for a moment, I thought it might be Damien. Ever since I woke up in the hospital, he had been absent—no visits, no word from him at all. Instead, it was Hugh who had brought me back from the hospital. I had asked Hugh about Damien that night during the drive home, but all he told me was that Damien had important matters to attend to. I wanted to press for more answers, but I knew letting my desperation show would only work against me.When I peered at the door, I realized it wasn’t Damien. It was Gemma. What did she want?Gemma strode into the room with her piercing gaze locking onto mine.“Damien sent me to get you,” she announced with a stern look on her face.I stayed rooted in place, my instincts screaming not to trust her. Memories of our first encounter flashed in my mind—how she had lured me into a dark dungeon under false pretenses and left me battered and bruised.“Did you hear what I said?” Gemma snapped. I could

Alison “What do you mean by I’m doing things to you?” I asked, staring at Damian closely.Damien opened his mouth as if to respond, but before he could say a word, his phone buzzed loudly. He pulled it out, glanced at the screen, and answered.“Hey, Hugh,” Damien slurred. “I didn’t expect you to call so soon.”I stood there, watching him as he spoke into the phone, his expression flickering between irritation and amusement.“You don’t have to worry about…” he drawled. “Of course I’m good. In fact, I’m going to start working on the plans right away.”He paused, nodding as if Hugh could see him, then said, “I’m not drunk stop saying that.”“I mean it.” His voice grew rough. “You know what? I’m done explaining to you. Bye.”Damien ended the call and tossed the phone on a nearby table. Without another word, he stood and left the room.Of course, I followed him. This was my chance to dig deeper, to find out what he was up to.I quickened my pace, catching up to him just as he stumbled sli

Alison I stood at the back of the mansion, my phone trembling in my hand. It was midnight, and I had woken up to see that Aiden had returned my call from earlier, and now I couldn’t bring myself to call him back because of my fucking guilt.Aiden’s words from our last conversation haunted me: “Did Damien ever touch you?”I closed my eyes. Shame rushed over me as I remembered my encounter with Damien. How had I allowed that to happen? If Hugh hadn’t showed up I would have let Damien go farther.Suddenly, Damien’s voice echoed in my head, “You’re doing things to me that I don’t fucking understand.”Was it just lust for him too, or something else entirely? I shook my head. Why did I care? Damien was a killer. It was sad that no matter how many times I say this. It still didn’t change anything.I couldn’t stay in this limbo. I needed to leave. My fingers hesitated over my phone screen, but finally, I called Aiden.“Alison,” Aiden answered quickly. “What’s going on? I have been calling

DamienI leaned back in my chair as I watched Silvia step into the study. The minute her eyes rested on me, she shot me a soft look.“Damien!” Silvia said my name in a seductive manner. If it was years ago, I would have been clamoring at her feet.Silvia and I dated once, and after we broke up, I decided to keep our relationship purely centered on business. Well, for Silvia it was a different story. She still tried to use her charms on me even though she knew it was never going to work.“I thought you wouldn’t show up,” I said, pulling myself out of my haze of thoughts. “You ignored my calls.”Silvia scoffed, brushing a strand of blonde hair off her shoulder. “And here I thought Damien Cruz never doubted me. Have you forgotten who I am?”I smirked, my arms crossing over my chest. “I haven’t forgotten. That’s why, the moment my men told me I had a visitor, I knew it was you. No one else would be bold enough to show up unannounced.”Silvia flashed a sly smile and sauntered over to the c

Alison The dungeon was colder than I had expected. As I sat on the hard stone floor, hugging my knees. I tried to shake off the chill, but the real frostbite was the regret gnawing at my insides. My plan had backfired.Aiden had told me to find a way to get involved in Damien’s schemes, and what had I done? Barged into his study, demanded a place in his plans, and ended up locked in this hellhole. Great job, I thought bitterly.Gemma’s taunting voice pulled me from my thoughts. Her cage was just opposite mine.“Look who’s down here with the rest of us,” she said with a sharp laugh. Her face pressed against the bars of her cell. “Let me guess—you pissed off Damien, or he’s finally figured out you’re useless.”I didn’t respond. I turned my head, looking at the cold floor.“What’s the matter? Cat got your tongue?” she pressed. “Or maybe it’s Damien? He’s good at shutting people up.”“Shut up, Gemma,” I muttered, leaning my head against the wall.“Touchy, touchy.” She grinned, her voice

AlisonI stared at Damien with a stunned look on my face. His words hung in the air as thoughts swirled in my mind.“Where are you going with this?” I finally asked.Damien’s lips curved into a sly grin, and he burst into laughter, his deep chuckle reverberating through the room. “Oh, don’t tell me you thought I meant riding as in the sexual activity. I was talking about horse riding.”My cheeks flushed with embarrassment, and I averted my gaze, muttering under my breath. I was so stupid!“You’ve got a dirty mind, Alison,” he teased, his laughter subsiding.“Now, hearing you say this has made me curious?” He raised a brow. “Why don’t you show me just how good you are at riding?”His darkened gaze and raised brow made me gulp as his words echoed in my head.“I’m waiting, Alison!” He leaned backward, pointing at his lap.The tone of his voice was mystic, and at that point I began to imagine myself in him.“Are you shy Alison?” He asked. I watched as his hands moved to his zip. He was ab

AlisonThe underground horse-riding betting spot was unlike anything I’d ever seen. A sprawling arena with a clamor of horses.Damien and I arrived dressed for the occasion—wide-brimmed hats, polished boots, and leather jackets. We were a bit over dressed but Damien made it seem like it wasn’t a big deal.He turned to me, pointing toward a man near the horses. “That’s Rodrigo.”I turned my head in the direction he was pointing at.I expected Rodrigo to be much older, but I was wrong. He was surprisingly young with a tattoo decorated on his right hand.“Can you see him?” Damien questioned, his voice catching my attention.“Yes!” I replied.“Good,” Damien said briskly. “Remember to go ahead with the plan when you approach him. “I hesitated, questions growing in my mind. “But what if—”Before I could finish, Hugh appeared beside Damian, also in disguise. He tipped his hat slightly, hiding his face, but I could still recognize him.“What are you doing here?” Damien asked in a shocked ton

Alison.“What’s a pretty rider girl like you doing out here all alone?” Rodrigo asked moving closer to me.I tried to regain myself flashing him a warm smile. “Don’t call me that,” I said in a low tone and he laughed. The sound was loud, and it seemed to be never-ending. “Are trying to find humans to ride is that why you’re out here?” Rodrigo asked after his laughter subsided.“I don’t find that funny,” I said, crossing my hand above the other.“I’m just messing with you, darling.” He said in a mocking tone. “But tell me, what are you really doing here?” I hesitated, my mind thinking of an answer that wouldn’t incriminate me—or Damien. After several thoughts, an idea finally popped up in my head.“My friend ditched me,” I lied, shrugging. “She’s not answering my calls, and I have no idea how I’m getting back to the hotel.” Rodrigo studied me, his dark eyes unreadable. Then, to my surprise, he smiled. “I could take you to your hotel.” I blinked, caught off guard. “Don’t you need t

Damien I roamed around the house, trying to keep my mind busy, but no matter what I did, my mind kept drifting back to Alison. Was she okay? Had everything gone according to plan? The thought of her being near Aiden made my skin crawl. I let out a frustrated sigh and ran a hand through my hair. I knew Hugh had really worked hard on this plan, calculating every move, but something didn’t sit right with me. I had this nagging feeling that something terrible was going to happen. Without thinking, I stepped out of the house and headed toward the garage. My eyes landed on an old car I hadn’t driven in years. It was covered in a thin layer of dust, but I knew it would still run. I walked over, brushing my fingers along the hood before pulling the door open. “I hope this works,” I muttered under my breath. Sliding into the driver’s seat, I turned the key in the ignition. The engine roared to life, and despite everything, I couldn’t help but smile. Without wasting another second,

Alison Later the next day, Hugh brought out a bottle of whiskey and poured drinks for all of us. He lifted his glass with a smirk. “To us,” he said. Damien raised an eyebrow but didn’t pick up his glass. “Let’s not celebrate too soon.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Come on, Damien. Have a little faith. Things are going to turn out just fine.” Damien scoffed, taking a slow sip from his glass. “That’s what you said last time we went up against Aiden. It didn’t exactly end well.” Hugh chuckled. “Touché.” He leaned back against the couch, stretching his legs out as he swirled the amber liquid in his glass. “You know, Alison, Damien wasn’t always the brooding, overprotective type. Back in the day, he was the one causing all the trouble.” I raised an eyebrow. “Oh really?” Damien let out a groan. “Hugh, don’t.” Hugh grinned, clearly enjoying himself. “Oh, I absolutely will.” He turned to me, his eyes gleaming with mischief. “There was this one time when we were kids—maybe fifteen

Alison Damien and I sat in the living room, the next day. While Hugh stood near a whiteboard, cigarette in hand, with a firm expression on his face. The faint scent of smoke curled around him as he flicked the ash onto the floor. Damien leaned back, eyeing the board. “I really want to know how you got that board.” Hugh exhaled a cloud of smoke. “Can we just focus on the plan?” Damien shrugged. “I’m just saying, it’s a little much.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Noted but I’m not going to do anything about it.” Damien furrowed his eyebrows but Hugh seemed not to notice. He tapped the cigarette against a nearby ashtray. “Now, let’s get started. First off, thank you for joining in, Alison.” His eyes locked on mine. “I know you’ve been through hell because of Aiden, and I don’t expect you to join but I’m glad you did.” I swallowed hard, my nails digging into my palm. “You don’t need to thank me I’m just doing what’s right.” Hugh nodded. “Good. Anyway, I intend to keep this pl

Alison The moment I rolled to the other side of the bed and found out it was empty. I sat up, quickly.“Damien!” I said, after realizing he wasn’t by my side.‘Where did he go?’ I asked myself. He couldn’t be in the shower because I couldn’t hear the water running.I didn’t want to stay alone, so I threw the covers off my body and went to look for him as I made my way toward the door the voices I heard on the other side of the door stopped me in my tracks. It was Damien and Hugh. They happened to be arguing. I pressed my ear against the door, listening, and the more I listened the more I realized they weren’t arguing they were just talking with loud voices. “You have to choose Damien it’s either her or your grandfather’s contact. To me, both are necessary.” I heard Hugh say. “This isn’t the time to focus on emotions Damien. We need her!”There was a beat of silence before Damien spoke, in a tone that was lower and more controlled. “I’m trying to be considerate.” Hugh let ou

DamienThe minute I passed the sign that welcomed us to the city. I felt a bit relieved.I drove through the streets, with so much speed I couldn’t wait to get to my destination and relax. I was exhausted. When we finally pulled up to the house, I glanced at Alison. Her head was leaning against the window, her breathing soft and steady. She was barely keeping her eyes open. I reached over, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Come on,” I murmured. “Let’s get you inside.”She stirred slightly but didn’t argue when I helped her out of the car. Her body clung to me like a second skin as I guided her up the stairs. The moment we stepped into the house, she mumbled something incoherent, already half-asleep. I smiled. “Alright, let’s get you to bed.”I led her to the bedroom, pulled back the covers, and eased her onto the mattress. She barely moved as I tucked her in. As I turned to leave, her hand shot out, gripping my wrist weakly. “Please can you stay with me?”“I’m not goin

AlisonThe car jerked to a sudden halt, jolting me from the haze of exhaustion that had settled over me. My body felt heavy, and sore from hours of being bound and blindfolded. The minute the car opened, I felt the cold air hit my face first, carrying with it the distant sound of passing vehicles. Were we on a main road? A city? Was this where I die, before I could process my thoughts, a firm hand gripped my arm. A second later, I felt the ropes around my wrists being yanked loose. Then the blindfold came off. I blinked rapidly as light flooded my vision. When I finally saw who was standing in front of me, my breath caught in my throat. “Oh my God…”I could barely get the words out. It was Damien. He had saved me.My body moved before I could think—I threw myself at him, my arms wrapping around his torso, holding onto him as if I needed proof that he was real.“Damien!” I finally woke.He let out a small chuckle, as he wrapped his arms around me. “Surprised?” he murmured

Alison I pulled my eyes open and I realized I was blindfolded. The black piece of clothing on my face made it difficult for me to see where I was and my wrists bound so tightly behind my back made it hard for me to take off the stupid blindfold. The only sounds I could make out were the low grunts of the men who were moving me around. Where were they taking me? And where was I?Suddenly I was dropped. Pain shot through my body as I hit the hard, cold floor. A groan slipped past my lips, but I barely had time to process the discomfort before the sound of heavy boots retreating filled the air. I swallowed, my throat dry. “Hello?” My voice wavered. “Who’s there?” There was no answer. The silence that followed made me realize I was all alone.I lay still, with my chest rising and falling with panicked breaths. My heart pounded so loudly that it drowned out the quiet. I had no idea where I was. And worse—I had no idea who had me. Regret churned in my stomach. I shouldn’t

Damien The moment I stepped into the mansion, I was shocked when I noticed that everywhere was quiet. I had expected to hear gunfire, shouting, and some sign of life. But instead, the only thing that greeted me was death. Bodies of my men were lined the front of the mansion. My hands tightened around my gun as I stepped past them, my pulse roaring in my ears. Where the hell was Hugh? I moved cautiously through the hallway, my gun raised, and my eyes scanning every shadow."Hugh?" I called out, my voice bouncing off the empty walls. There was no answer. I increased my pace, moving deeper into the mansion. My mind was already thinking about the worst, that something terrible might have happened to Hugh. It was during that moment I heard a sound. It was faint at first but then it became loud, it sounded almost like a groan."Hugh!" I called again, following the noise. This time, I heard him clearly. “Here…” His voice was hoarse, coming from one of the rooms upstairs. I
