Alison

“What do you mean by I’m doing things to you?” I asked, staring at Damian closely.

Damien opened his mouth as if to respond, but before he could say a word, his phone buzzed loudly. He pulled it out, glanced at the screen, and answered.

“Hey, Hugh,” Damien slurred. “I didn’t expect you to call so soon.”

I stood there, watching him as he spoke into the phone, his expression flickering between irritation and amusement.

“You don’t have to worry about…” he drawled. “Of course I’m good. In fact, I’m going to start working on the plans right away.”

He paused, nodding as if Hugh could see him, then said, “I’m not drunk stop saying that.”

“I mean it.” His voice grew rough. “You know what? I’m done explaining to you. Bye.”

Damien ended the call and tossed the phone on a nearby table. Without another word, he stood and left the room.

Of course, I followed him. This was my chance to dig deeper, to find out what he was up to.

I quickened my pace, catching up to him just as he stumbled slightly in his drunken state.

“Damien,” I said, reaching out to him. “Let me help you.”

He shrugged off my touch, muttering, “I can handle myself, Alison. I don’t need you to hold me.”

But as soon as I let go, he nearly lost his balance, almost tripping on his on foot. I rushed to his side again, gripping his arm firmly.

It was not that I cared about him or anything. I just wanted him to get to wherever he was going safely so I could find out what his plans were.

“I told you, I’ve got this,” he slurred.

“Clearly,” I said dryly, refusing to let him push me away this time.

When we finally reached the study, Damien began rummaging through drawers and shelves, muttering to himself.

“Where is it? Where is it?” he said, his voice growing more impatient with each passing second.

I stood by the door, watching him tear through the room like a possessed man. Finally, he froze, his hand hovering over a hidden drawer. He pulled it open and extracted a stack of papers.

“Here it is,” he said triumphantly, holding up the documents. “The plan.”

Curiosity got the better of me, and I stepped closer. “What plan, Damien?”

He glanced at me, a crooked grin spreading across his face. “This,” he said, slamming the papers down onto the desk. “This is the plan I’ve been working on for months. It’s going to change everything.”

He laughed, a hollow, bitter sound, and dropped down in his chair. “Once this plan works, maybe... maybe I’ll finally get some peace.”

“What kind of peace are you talking about?” I asked, hoping this time he would go straight to the point, but I was wrong.

Damien ignored my question, his attention shifting back to the papers.

“I’ve already taken care of Alberto and his men,” he said, more to himself than to me. “Next is the Pérez family. And after that...” He trailed off, his eyes gleaming with a dangerous light. “The gang in East Lands is going to help me finish the job.”

I felt a chill run down my spine. “What exactly are you planning to do?”

Damien finally looked at me, his grin turning into a cold smirk. “I’m going to make sure every gang in this city turns against each other without ever realizing I’m the one pulling the strings. Alliances will crumble, trust will shatter, and I’ll be the last one standing.”

His words sent a wave of unease through me, but I managed to keep my expression neutral. A sly smile crept across my face, masking the turmoil inside me. At least now I knew what he was planning.

I decided to leave the room and call Aiden, desperate to share what I had just learned. But before I could slip away, Damien grabbed my wrist, his grip firm despite his drunk state.

“Where are you going?” he asked. “Why are you leaving me?”

“I’m not leaving you,” I said quickly, in a tone that sounded a bit rushed. “I just... I need some air.”

Damien’s gaze darkened, and he pulled me closer. “You can’t leave me. You’re going to stay here.”

His voice gave no room for argument. It was crazy that even in Damien’s drunken state his bipolar personality still flourished.

“Why are you quiet?” His darkened gaze disappeared, and I was left with the soft look.

See? Bipolar.

I didn’t give him a reply, and his hand which was on me tightened.

“Speak to me.” He continued. “Hearing your voice reminds me of your moans.”

My eyes widened as I thought of that night.

In the mansion.

I gulped, watching as he leaned forward. His dark brows furrowed as he stood on his feet.

Damien’s next action shocked me. He pushed me onto the desk, positioning himself between my legs.

“You drive me insane, Alison,” he said, his voice almost a whisper. “Do you know how many nights I’ve dreamed of seeing you naked? You’re in my head every time I close my eyes.”

I opened my mouth to protest, but immediately his hands glided between my legs. I couldn’t mutter any words. Even when I tried pushing him away, my body betrayed me.

His touch was intoxicating, and I found myself frozen as he trailed his hand down my neck. Before I could think, he had pulled me onto his lap, his lips brushing against my skin.

“Damien, stop—” I began, but my voice faltered as his kisses moved down my body. His hands moved to the little opening on my dress and he cupped my left breast in one hand, fondling it through my dress.

I wanted him to take off my dress. I also wanted to feel his fingers brush against my nipples.

It was as if Damien could read my mind because he began to slide my zip down in a slow manner. Just as he was about to take off my dress, the sound of the door opening shattered the moment.

“There you are,” Hugh’s voice rang out.

Damien turned, his expression twisting into a scowl. “Really, Hugh? You just had to ruin the moment.”

Hugh ignored him, his gaze narrowing as it landed on me.

“Get out,” he snapped. “I need to talk to Damien.”

My chest flustered as I quickly gathered myself and left the room. Once I was outside the mansion, I pulled out my phone and dialed Aiden’s number.

The line rang and rang, but there was no answer. Frustrated, I ended the call and leaned against the wall.

‘Maybe it was a good thing Aiden didn’t pick.’ I said, as I remembered that I allowed Damien to touch me despite having a husband.

I sighed as I walked into the mansion only to stop when I crossed the study.

I heard Hugh and Damien’s voices. Their conversation was growing heated. I tried to listen in, but their voices dropped.

“What the hell were you thinking, Damien?” Hugh’s voice finally picked up. “First Alberto now the Perez.”

“It’s all part of the plan.”

“No, it’s not. The plan was to make them turn against themselves and kill each other. But now you have placed a bigger target on our backs. You know I’m so mad at the fact you kept Rio’s death a secret.”

“I’m sorry.” Damien slurred. “I didn’t tell you about Rio’s death because I didn’t want you to worry.”

“Well, I’m worried now thanks to you.”

“Those men… they would tear down the empire.” Hugh added.

“I don’t know why you are so afraid. Have you forgotten that we are the santos?” Damien laughed. “Come on buddy cheer up, those people have nothing on us.”

“I don’t know what’s giving you this confidence. I guess it’s the fucking alcohol.”

“This has nothing to do with alcohol and everything to do with what I have been working on. After I —” a crashing sound echoed loudly and Damien stopped talking.

“Oops!” He exclaimed. “My bad.”

He paused again and I could hear a mumble which I guessed belonged to Hugh.

“So where was I?” Damien asked then as if recalling he replied. “Yes, the hospital. After I left the hospital, I have been working on cleaning up this mess so we can get back on track. I ended up devising a plan after I discovered that—“

“And you think this plan of yours is going to fix everything?” Hugh countered. “You’re just going to make things worse.”

Their bickering continued, but I couldn’t bring myself to listen anymore. My mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, and all I could think about were Damien’s words, his touch, and the dangerous game he was playing.

As I stood there, staring at the phone in my hand, I realized one thing: I was in way over my head.

Alison The dungeon was colder than I had expected. As I sat on the hard stone floor, hugging my knees. I tried to shake off the chill, but the real frostbite was the regret gnawing at my insides. My plan had backfired.Aiden had told me to find a way to get involved in Damien’s schemes, and what had I done? Barged into his study, demanded a place in his plans, and ended up locked in this hellhole. Great job, I thought bitterly.Gemma’s taunting voice pulled me from my thoughts. Her cage was just opposite mine.“Look who’s down here with the rest of us,” she said with a sharp laugh. Her face pressed against the bars of her cell. “Let me guess—you pissed off Damien, or he’s finally figured out you’re useless.”I didn’t respond. He’s good at shutting people up.”“Shut up, Gemma,” I muttered, leaning my head against the wall.“Touchy, touchy.” She grinned, her voice

I was talking about horse riding.”My cheeks flushed with embarrassment, and I averted my gaze, muttering under my breath. I was so stupid!“You’ve got a dirty mind, Alison,” he teased, his laughter subsiding.“Now, hearing you say this has made me curious?” He raised a brow. “Why don’t you show me just how good you are at riding?”His darkened gaze and raised brow made me gulp as his words echoed in my head.“I’m waiting, Alison!” He leaned backward, pointing at his lap.The tone of his voice was mystic, and at that point I began to imagine myself in him.“Are you shy Alison?” He asked. AlisonThe underground horse-riding betting spot was unlike anything I’d ever seen. A sprawling arena with a clamor of horses.Damien and I arrived dressed for the occasion—wide-brimmed hats, polished boots, and leather jackets. We were a bit over dressed but Damien made it seem like it wasn’t a big deal.He turned to me, pointing toward a man near the horses. “That’s Rodrigo.”I turned my head in the direction he was pointing at.I expected Rodrigo to be much older, but I was wrong. He was surprisingly young with a tattoo decorated on his right hand.“Can you see him?” Damien questioned, his voice catching my attention.“Yes!” I replied.“Good,” Damien said briskly. “Remember to go ahead with the plan when you approach him. “I hesitated, questions growing in my mind. “But what if—”Before I could finish, Hugh appeared beside Damian, also in disguise. He tipped his hat slightly, hiding his face, but I could still recognize him.“What are you doing here?” Damien asked in a shocked ton

After several thoughts, an idea finally popped up in my head.“My friend ditched me,” I lied, shrugging. “She’s not answering my calls, and I have no idea how I’m getting back to the hotel.” Rodrigo studied me, his dark eyes unreadable. Then, to my surprise, he smiled. “I could take you to your hotel.” I blinked, caught off guard. “Don’t you need t

DamienThe past few days have been the most devastating moments of my life, watching Alison come back from her horse riding lessons with Rodrigo was starting to eat away at me. Every evening, she returned with no tangible information, yet her face glowed with a smile that made my blood boil. I hated seeing her like that. Was it jealousy? Perhaps. I hadn’t been able to make her smile like that in all the time she had been here, yet Rodrigo had her laughing and glowing as if her life wasn’t dangling by a thread. The thought of it made my skin crawl. That evening, as she stepped into the apartment, I couldn’t control myself. The sight of her bright smile pushed me over the edge. I grabbed her roughly by the arm, yanking her into the room before she could even drop her bag. "What the hell is this game you’re playing, Alison?" I demanded, in a sharp tone. She looked at me, startled. "What game? What are you talking about?" I let out a bitter laugh, releasing her arm but stepping closer.

Alison Later the next day, Hugh brought out a bottle of whiskey and poured drinks for all of us. He lifted his glass with a smirk. “To us,” he said. Damien raised an eyebrow but didn’t pick up his glass. “Let’s not celebrate too soon.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Come on, Damien. Have a little faith. Things are going to turn out just fine.” Damien scoffed, taking a slow sip from his glass. “That’s what you said last time we went up against Aiden. It didn’t exactly end well.” Hugh chuckled. “Touché.” He leaned back against the couch, stretching his legs out as he swirled the amber liquid in his glass. “You know, Alison, Damien wasn’t always the brooding, overprotective type. Back in the day, he was the one causing all the trouble.” I raised an eyebrow. “Oh really?” Damien let out a groan. “Hugh, don’t.” Hugh grinned, clearly enjoying himself. “Oh, I absolutely will.” He turned to me, his eyes gleaming with mischief. “There was this one time when we were kids—maybe fifteen

The faint scent of smoke curled around him as he flicked the ash onto the floor. Damien leaned back, eyeing the board. “I really want to know how you got that board.” Hugh exhaled a cloud of smoke. “Can we just focus on the plan?” Damien shrugged. “I’m just saying, it’s a little much.” Hugh rolled his eyes. “Noted but I’m not going to do anything about it.” Damien furrowed his eyebrows but Hugh seemed not to notice. He tapped the cigarette against a nearby ashtray. “Now, let’s get started. First off, thank you for joining in, Alison.” His eyes locked on mine. “I know you’ve been through hell because of Aiden, and I don’t expect you to join but I’m glad you did.” I swallowed hard, my nails digging into my palm. “You don’t need to thank me I’m just doing what’s right.” Hugh nodded. “Good. I sat up, quickly.“Damien!” I said, after realizing he wasn’t by my side.‘Where did he go?’ I asked myself. He couldn’t be in the shower because I couldn’t hear the water running.I didn’t want to stay alone, so I threw the covers off my body and went to look for him as I made my way toward the door the voices I heard on the other side of the door stopped me in my tracks. It was Damien and Hugh. They happened to be arguing. I pressed my ear against the door, listening, and the more I listened the more I realized they weren’t arguing they were just talking with loud voices. “You have to choose Damien it’s either her or your grandfather’s contact. To me, both are necessary.” I heard Hugh say. “This isn’t the time to focus on emotions Damien. We need her!”There was a beat of silence before Damien spoke, in a tone that was lower and more controlled. “I’m trying to be considerate.” Hugh let ou

Her body clung to me like a second skin as I guided her up the stairs. The moment we stepped into the house, she mumbled something incoherent, already half-asleep. I smiled. “Alright, let’s get you to bed.”I led her to the bedroom, pulled back the covers, and eased her onto the mattress. She barely moved as I tucked her in. As I turned to leave, her hand shot out, gripping my wrist weakly. “Please can you stay with me?”“I’m not goin

The minute the car opened, I felt the cold air hit my face first, carrying with it the distant sound of passing vehicles. Were we on a main road? A city? Was this where I die, before I could process my thoughts, a firm hand gripped my arm. A second later, I felt the ropes around my wrists being yanked loose. Then the blindfold came off. I blinked rapidly as light flooded my vision. When I finally saw who was standing in front of me, my breath caught in my throat. “Oh my God…”I could barely get the words out. It was Damien. He had saved me.My body moved before I could think—I threw myself at him, my arms wrapping around his torso, holding onto him as if I needed proof that he was real.“Damien!” I finally woke.He let out a small chuckle, as he wrapped his arms around me. “Surprised?” he murmured

Damien The moment I stepped into the mansion, I was shocked when I noticed that everywhere was quiet. I had expected to hear gunfire, shouting, and some sign of life. But instead, the only thing that greeted me was death. Bodies of my men were lined the front of the mansion. My hands tightened around my gun as I stepped past them, my pulse roaring in my ears. Where the hell was Hugh? I moved cautiously through the hallway, my gun raised, and my eyes scanning every shadow."Hugh?" I called out, my voice bouncing off the empty walls. There was no answer. I increased my pace, moving deeper into the mansion. My mind was already thinking about the worst, that something terrible might have happened to Hugh. It was during that moment I heard a sound. It was faint at first but then it became loud, it sounded almost like a groan."Hugh!" I called again, following the noise. This time, I heard him clearly. “Here…” His voice was hoarse, coming from one of the rooms upstairs. I
