Chapter 69

Leah POV

I was mustering the courage to not yell or cry as Damein took me to the factory. My efforts had all gone down the drain and there was nothing I could do about it.

Everyone was silent, the both of us. After deciding to go ahead with the work, Damian became quiet. I didn't know what he was thinking and I wished I knew. He kept giving me a look filled with guilt like everything was all his fault.

I wanted him to stop blaming himself but I knew it wouldn't work. He was an Alpha and it was their duty to take care of the people in the pack. He might be thinking he has failed me.

We got to the clearing, leading to the pack house and the factory when I saw Connor standing with Marcus. Their expressions were both filled with worry. I didn't have to wait for them to tell me what they found because they found nothing.

Damian held my hand and we walked up to them. As they saw me, they looked away and bowed.

“Did you find anything? Any trace at least?” Damian's voice was filled
