Damian POV

I had made up my mind not to hide anything from Anne. She was my wife and deserved to know everything going on. Stephanie was doing too much yet I couldn't bring myself to be very strict with her. Maybe that was the reason for her attitude recently.

“You're not saying anything, Damian,” she pulled me out of my monologue.

“It's nothing serious. Recently, Stephanie has been making Evelyn do some unnecessary jobs and it got me concerned because I know how much you have come to love her,” I said and she visibly relaxed.

“Oh, well,” she shuffled closer to me. “I don't like when my person is being used except by me but I can make an exception if you promise she would not be doing it again,” she looked at me earnestly.

Well, it was a good thing I had warned Stephanie to stop calling Evelyn every morning. “It won't happen again, I promise,” I answered. I was ready to do anything to make her happy.

Anne's smile was really pretty and I would love to make her keep smiling.
