“Like a fever, I am burning alive.”

Daisy’s POV

Were vampires this persuasive or it was just an Alaric thing?

Alaric and I had gone into a water splashing contest, and I can confidently say I was happily losing.

“Enough,” I screamed, wiping the water from my face.

“Say it,” Alaric taunted.

I blew air out of my lips, my eyes narrowed as I stared at him, my green eyes were turned slightly red from the number of assault it had endured from Alaric’s attacks.

“You win,” I gritted out.

Alaric yelled, “yes” throwing a fist in the air.

“I was almost going to cry uncle,” he said dramatically placing his hand on his chest.

I wouldn’t admit this to his face but Alaric’s presence was the escape I never knew I needed.

His countenance was far different from the person I had meet earlier in the courtyard.

A gush of wind blew, and I blinked, surprise to see Alaric stand right in front of me.

His eyes glowing with a mischievous glint, “do you trust me?” he whispered.
