CHAPTER 22

“Life moves fast, and good things have an expiration date,”

Daisy’s POV

I was slipping in and out of consciousness, the only constant thing around me was the sound of a beating heart.

“Hold on, you are safe,” a deep voice muttered, but the voice was lighter than Hades.

The smell of disinfectants and other cleaning agents filled the air, and I groaned as the white light burned my eyes.

“what happened?” The nurse asked as he placed me on the bed.

“I found her unconscious in the forest,” he replied, the worry in his voice filled my heart with warmth.

The nurse had gotten to work instantly cleaning the wounds, while making small talk with the guy, I was yet to know his name.

“alright, she looks right about fit but she is going to have to stay the night for further examination,” the nurse said.

I shook my head in fear, my fingers gripping my savior’s hands, “don’t let me stay here,” I whispered. Scared of Astrid returning to finish what she had started.

“Thanks but we are going to leave,”
