Chapter Fifty.

Aurora’s POV

‘Whew!’ I breathed out in relief. Michael’s presence around me had been stifling, to say the least.

Slamming the door on him had been oddly satisfying. Had I been too rude? Yes, but it wasn’t like he didn’t deserve it. I was tired of his ever-changing demeanor, it was so difficult to determine when he was being genuine.

I wasn’t even sure if I wanted him to be genuine anymore. I had truly accepted that we could never be together regardless of our history as mates. Now, I couldn’t wait for this event to be over so that Michael would leave. I just hoped he wouldn’t cause any trouble for me before he left.

I lay on my bed thinking about the summit that would take place tomorrow. I was still a little nervous about having to meet other Alphas. I had not been able to shake off the feeling of not belonging yet. I had a severe case of imposter syndrome.

the drug in the drink is the most overused plot element in those stories. I think i read that in pretty much every single story in this app. Zero creativity, author.
