Aurora’s POV: In a crazed frenzy, I threw all of my stuff about the now empty room but still, there were no traces of my mom or the children anywhere. Tears streamed down my face in torrents, almost blinding my vision but I didn’t stop. I couldn’t bring myself to. My body shook with fear, and at the same time, I was confused and angry. As I stumbled across the room, looking for something, anything that could act as a clue, the only thing I could think of was why my mother would do a thing like this to me. She was supposed to stand by me, to protect me and the babies! Heck, she was supposed to be my mother! Frustrated tears leaked out of my eyes and with a scream, I fell to the floor, shaking as a combination of horror and panic tore through me. Aurora’s POV:The first thing I did when I arrived downstairs and met my mother being held by two soldiers was to yell in her face. I was beyond mad and the fact that she had not even an ounce of emotion on her face made me even angrier.“Mother why?!” I growled in tears. “Why would you do something like this? What do you stand to gain?!”My body shook with anger as instead of responding to me, she smiled. For a minute, I had this irresistible urge to hit her, to strike her, or to do anything to her to inflict her pain… but I could not. Aurora’s POV:I was confused. I don’t know what to do or say. Aurora‘a POV: Klaus leaned close to me like a child straining for attention as he struggled to eavesdrop. I couldn’t keep my smile at bay as I brought my phone to my ear, and with a lift in my mood, I muttered ;“Hello?”“Hello daughter,” my father greeted back, and as soon as Klaus heard that, he stumbled away from me with wide eyes.Wordlessly, he pointed to me and then back at the phone, and I didn’t need any soothsayer to know that he was indirectly trying to confirm if what he was hearing was true. Aurora’s POV:Savannah pushed through the door, even before being asked to. As she stalked into the room, I couldn’t help but notice how her eyes were trained on Klaus. She stared at him like he was food… and me? Aurora’s POV:“Josie…?” I found myself whispering when I reached the sitting room and found a frail woman sitting on one of the sofas.I still had my doubts and rightfully so. But then when I fully stepped into the room, I took a deep breath because I was finally consumed with an aura I have grown to recognize and love… it was something that even Josie never had.As if noticing my presence, my mother looked up. Her eyes were tired but they still held excitement in them… they held ‘her spark’. That was the last thing that should’ve broken my resolve. Aurora’s POV: I stepped out of the room with my mother following closely behind me. I was so lost in my thoughts that I had almost forgotten how weak she was. When it occurred to me that she might be lagging, I stopped, turned around, and smiled when I noticed that Klaus had his arm wrapped around her protectively while he pulled her alongside him. “Thank you,” I mouthed to him and he nodded. “You’re welcome.” He mouthed back. Upon seeing that she was doing just fine, I turned away and continued to walk through the airy corridors. We went down a few more flights of stairs and before you knew it, we arrived at the dungeons. The first thing I noticed when I stepped into the place today was how bad-smelling the entire place was. It was damp and dark and had this eerie feeling to it that I couldn’t quite decipher. Another thing I noticed was how the soldiers had changed the positions of the locked-up criminals, and now, Josie’s and Emily’s cells were just opposite of each other.
