Rodion
______
Most police officers were busy evacuating some guests from the ballroom. My target was Leonid and his team, or any police who dared to cross my way. The aim was to shoot to kill, considering that he pulled up a war with me, especially trying to set me up with the police.
He was my target, even though his men were guarding him. I banged several down as I approached him. I had almost captured Leonid when a feminine scream caught me. My hesitation led to him aiming his gun at me and before he shot me, Vincenzo pushed me over and I fell to the ground.
"Fuck!" I roared. Just then, I heard Vincenzo grunt in pain, only to realize his father shot him.
The whimpers from the lady at the entrance intensified. I hated to think it was Alessia who I knew was being taken to the safe house.
"Turn the lights on!" I ordered. "NOW!" I barked as I shot two officers approaching me. I was still on the floor.
The lights were b
Rodion_____I averted my gaze to Matteo, my man, he once promised to never die in the hands of enemies. He sure fought hard to keep the promise. As I stared at him, The memory of how we met surfaced. Back six years when I was an underboss.I had just skidded my motorbike to a stop in Lazza territory when he approached me. He was clad in a dark tee and black jeans, similar to how I was clad. I examined him quietly as I took off my gloves and from the outfit, I knew he was another guard assigned to work for me."Can I help you?" I raised a questioning brow which he probably never saw because the little light from pathway lights was directed mostly at him. He bowed his head and then spoke."I'm your new bodyguard, boss." He notified. He was not even looking into my eyes. I let out a heavy sigh and then climbed off the bike."Who hired you?" I asked. I was not surprised anymore because he was probably the tenth person to be hired.
Alessia____There was a hole in my heart and it was aching. It felt like there was a fresh wound that was slowly wearing down my heart.Everything around me was blurry. I could feel myself falling and getting up. It was as if my body was weak and I was compelled to run away. The breeze outside nibbled my skin mercilessly making me shiver. I wiped my hair off my face and honestly, I smelt blood.I just wanted to go far away from everyone, everything, and every pain. But my body was not with me. I dragged myself outside the building, funny how the night was crawling in yet I couldn't tell how the day ended. I hated the day and I wished we could turn back time just to start the day again."Alessia." Someone called me. That was followed by a car hooting. I whirled to where it emerged and there was a car parked at the exit gate of the building. "Get in." He waved and from the little brain cell that was left func
Alessia____I arrived at Lazza territory and everyone looked gloomy. The soldiers who were moving about in the mansion were not as many as before. I hurried to the east wing where I assumed Rodion was.I charged to his room and seeing the lights were on, I knew he was in. I spotted his phone and gun on the bedside table. My heart was racing, either from running or the anxiety to see him.He was not inside and the bed was neat. I hurriedly walked to the shower and he was not in either. That found me storming into the dressing room and being the last I could find him, he was not inside.I was dying to see him. Seeing his phone in his room meant that he was in the east-wing apartment. I gunned downstairs and to the basement. I knew him, when something stressed him, he would go punch bags in the gym or shoot his anger out in the shooting area. The place was quiet."Rodion!" I called as I walked around, checking every corner and even the changing room in the gym, but he was not there.Pan
Alessia_____What did I expect? Rodion will always protect me even when he is not around. I knew he wanted us to work, our relationship to work and I also needed to know that he was a mafia and nothing would change that. It was for me to trust what we shared. To trust our love and let the rest be as it is. I loved him so much.Thinking he sent Alonzo to follow me, made me see how he was devoted, and it was my time to play my part. Like Alonzo said, he was a human, he deserved love and care as well."Speaking of your car, I found a note in the car the day we were to have a date." I hid my face, knowing that my hair was covering most of my face, but who was I kidding, Rodion moved closer and took care of it. The way he would search my face with his hands and stare into my eyes, those actions were not obvious but they would drive me insane. I was probably insanely obsessed."I can explain.""Then start talking
Alessia____Mum used to tell me that it's wrong to wake someone who is relishing their sleep. When I was young, I used to fall asleep during family movie time, a movie that I used to pick, and then fall asleep before it ends. I used to complain to Mum a lot for not waking me up, but her response was always the same.I walked out of the shower with a towel swathed around my nakedness. I made sure to make no noises to wake my man. At least he was resting, which he highly needed.I strode to the dressing room to find something cozy to wear. Most of my pants were tight except for the few dark baggy trousers. For a reason, I did not want to wear black. I couldn't let the situation look gloomy.Wearing black meant I was mourning, and I hadn't brought myself to let Matteo go.I settled with blue shorts and a white top. I needed something to coat me up so I went for a gray trench coat.I put on my white Prada boots and then
Alessia____Murmurs sufficed in the corners of the conference room I had walked in. The men in suits had gazed in my direction but they all assumed me and resumed talking among themselves. I did not hesitate to make my way in.My boots connected to the marble floor creating a commanding sound. The trench coat swung to my pace, and a serious face pasted on me.The little muffles went on settling when they all noticed I was approaching Don's seat. I could feel their gazes penetrating through my bones. I swivel the seat and sank on it. That earned me more sickening murmurs but this time, they were questioning my presence and actions.I pulled my gun hastily and slapped it on the table, and I got the silence I wanted. Though their faces could show just how confused they were.I studied the five men clad in neat suits silently. They were supposed to be seven, which was from the survey I did on Rodi
Alessia___I remembered my parents used to fight because mum hid about Alonzo. And there, I wished she could have mentioned it earlier because Dad seemed okay with it.I looked up at Alonzo and found he was also gazing at me as if waiting for me to agree on it. I would have loved that, but they all knew it was too late because I had found another life."Alessia has a private jet, we will be visiting on weekends and having dinner together, if that's okay?" He read my mind and I felt relieved. Why was he so understanding?"Yes. And Alonzo is taking his training. So we are busy in Sicily but we promise to be having a family get-together dinner." I blurted. We both gazed at our parents expectedly, but they were all staring at us in what looked like a shock. Maybe wondering what our deal was. From the looks, Alonzo saved me, I did not want to stay away from Rodion."Did you two talk before?" Dad cared to
Alessia_____Red.I worked hard to be red. That color you'd easily notice when someone walks in. My hair was red, matching well with the red thigh-level dress that did nothing to hide every feminine aspect of me. Then I wore bloody lipstick, you'd think I was advertising the color. The only color that appeared different was of my thigh-high six-inch stiletto heel boots which were black.Every eye was on me as I walked into the most luxurious club in Rome. The girl who walked in and everyone turned to acknowledge her presence.I fixed my fake eyeglasses, a smile was fixed on my crimson lips as I approached a bar stool at the higher bar counter. It happened to be the VIP tavern, which of course I could afford.I ignored the murmurs from the crowd and focused on the bartender. I flashed a smile at him. The tall guy clad in a neat white shirt that had a name tag on it, Paolo. There were only two bartenders in the VIP sec
