As if it was our first kiss, Rodion first explored my face with a look of victory in his eyes. He ran his fingers on my cheek, leaving feathery touches as he pushed the hand behind my neck.
I ignored the crowd, the way everyone was cheering us, wanting us to kiss already, but watching my husband take his time to first stare at me felt like heaven.
His other hand settled on the other side of the cheek. He used his thumb to caress my skin, down to my lip and then my chin.
"Thank you." He murmured that I was the only one who heard him. I noticed how his eyes begged me to read beyond the words, to see his heart. Those eyes that once used to scare me, were watching me tenderly. "For being mine, thank you, baby."
I nodded with a smile and tears that I had been controlling ever since the wedding started to well up again. "I love you."
