**Laura's POV**
I was going to walk out and get rest to be able to proceed everything that was happening. I'm confused, I don't know or understand what's going on. Who's the real enemy? The unknown man or the council of elders, Sonia and Alex? From my past life, Alex, Sonia and the council of elders where my foes. Sonia who keeps lying that Alex is her cousin meanwhile her lover, Alex who wants to ascend the Alpha throne, the council of elders, betrayers... Maxwell was the only ally revealed to me. Who is this man? What does he want the spectra for? As the pack members dispersed, I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. Well, everywhere looks okay now. We performed a funeral for the deceased not without Sonia trying to force words out of my mouth. Who was this mysterious man once again? Those runes on his face clearly tell that he's a rouge, a rebel... Everything evil lurks around him. What's the significance of the spectra? I knew i had to het to the bottom of this. I called a meeting with the top advisors, including Maxwell, Alex and few others. Well, I didn't inform Sonia but she would come. We gathered in the council chamber, our faces grave with concern. The atmosphere was tense. "Let's start with what we know," I began. "The spectra... The spectra is an ancient artifact, taken away from our pack centuries ago, that was what i was made to believe. But, what's the significant and why does this stranger want it badly?" I asked. " I've heard stories of the Spectra's power.. it's said to grant immense strength and control over the elements. But at a terrible cost. " Maxwell explained, I directed my gaze to the elders watched them nod in acknowledgement. " The cost being what? ", I pressed because I needed clear explanation. "The spectra feeds on the life force of our pack members, " Xavier stated and that was the very first time in a while he had talked. "it's a curse and not a blessing. " He added his voice low. I felt a chill run down my spine. " So, we could tell that this stranger wants to use out pack as a sacrifices to power the spectra? " I asked. " That could be one possibility, or maybe he is the best of the east. " An elder stated making all heads swerve to his direction and he half shrugged. " That's a rough prank Draco!" Another elder scolded. The room fell silent, the weight of the situation sinking in. Wr need to find out more about this stranger and his true intentions," I declared. "Maxwell, gather our best scouts and send them out to gather Intel. Alex, work with our warriors to prepare for battle. We won't let him take the spectra without a fight. "Don't you think you're forgetting something?" Xavier asked abruptly. Of course I totally forgot about him. "You'll join Alex." I answered. "I'm the one in position if whatever you gave to Maxwell." He argued. "You won't tell me what to do." I hollered but it was a low one. As the meeting adjourned, I couldn't help but wonder what other secrets lay hidden in our packs history. And what lay in store for us in this brewing storm. As the meeting adjourned, I couldn't help but wonder what other secrets lay hidden in our pack's history. And what lay in store for us in this brewing storm. As days passed, tensions shimmered beneath the surface. Alex's disdain for me was palpable, and k knew he was plotting something. The council of elders, once wise and just now seemed to be in cahoots with him. Their eyes would gleam with an unsettling intensity whenever they mentioned the importance of mating me with Alex. Maxwell remained my rock, confidant. "Laura, be careful." He warned one night as we walked under the moonlit trees. "Alex and the council are not what they seem. They'll stop ay nothing to take you down." He doesn't know yet, I already know their minutes though. I nodded, my heart heavy with words of the unknown. Sonia was once my friend or rather, never my friend... Now everything and everyone seems to be in league. Her smiles and laughter had become a mask, hiding her true intentions. * One fateful evening, as I strolled through the pack's central courtyard, Alex approached me. His eyes gleamed with an unsettling light, and his voice dripped with malice. "Laura, it's time we put our differences aside and united our pack. Let's mate, and secure our future together." I recoiled, my instincts screaming warning. "Never, Alex. I'll never mate with you or anyone else just to satisfy your ambition." His face twisted in rage, and for a moment, I thought he'd strike me. But he controlled himself, his voice dripping with venom. "Fine, Laura. But know this: you'll regret defying me. You'll regret not taking my offer... while you still can." The threat hung in the air like a dark cloud, and I knew I had to act fast. But how could I protect myself from those I once trusted? The web of deceit was closing in around me, and I had to find a way to escape before it was too late. After drawing a long breathe, I stood up and pondered on the nightmare I just had. Days passed, and tensions simmered beneath the surface. I knew Sonia and Alex were plotting something, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Maxwell remained my loyal ally, but even he seemed troubled by the growing unease. One night, as I walked through the pack's central courtyard, I noticed a strange glow emanating from the shadows. The moon was full overhead, casting an eerie light on the proceedings. I remembered that for days now, words hasn't been heard of the mysterious man. Maybe he's tired and wouldn't come for the spectra again. I needed him as an ally, but how? How do I go about this? I was still contemplating when a shadow hovered over me.**Sonia's POV**"That girl is getting in my nerve as days pass by... What the hell is wrong with her?" I murmured as I and Alex walked deep into the woods."She wasn't like this.... I'm shocked too. Where she got all those strength and courage from, it kinda amazes me." Alex remarked with a sigh but I envied those words. They were actually meant for me and not her. "You know I hate when she's being complimented right?" I asked with irritation."I'll be the last person to compliment her." Alex scoffed and turned around to look at me.We were just a step away from each other when I sighted Laura in the woods and a shadow was enclosing in on her. I needed no soothsayer to tell me that she wasn't aware. It was too late to react because the next minute, shadows, thick dark shadows covered everywhere. I could barely see a thing."What the fuck is happening?" Alex cussed taking steps away from me but I grabbed his hands with the little sight if him that I could see."Where do you think you'
**Laura's POV**I, Laura, stood at the forefront of the funeral procession, my heart heavy with grief. It felt the same... Everything still felt fresh and i felt like suffocating l. The pain had me vulnerable and I weeped for my own inability of being strong. That day had finally come to bif my beloved parents, the late Alpha and Luna. The pack members gathered around, their faces somber and respectful. As we made our way to the burial site which was few meters away from the pack house, I couldn't help but think of all the memories I shared with my parents. The laughter, the adventures, the wise counsel they had given me over the years. My eyes welled up with tears, but I fought to keep them back, knowing I had to be strong for my pack. The ceremony began, and the council members took turns sharing stories and memories of my parents leadership and bravery. I listened, my throat constricting with emotion, as they spike their wisdom, kindness, and unwavering dedication to our pack.Of
**Laura's POV**As the days went by, no words were heard from the mysterious man who was hell bent over the spectra which made me nervous because I know that he was going to come back, that's for sure.No one is certain if he's truly the beast of the east but then, let's forget about him. I haven't paid much attention to elder Magnus but his action's this time got me curious of what his true motives were. "I feel sometimes is off." I complained to Maxwell while we took a stroll in the river bank at the back of the pack house. I love visiting here whenever I wanted absolute peace. The green tress, the water falls, slow and rhymatic waves of water... Everything speaks about nature and it's perfect output."Forget about everything now and feel happy for once. Enjoy yourself and stop being hard on yourself.. remember that the evil ones would keep doing evil and not a soul can change that about them." He advised and i admired him alot. How blind was I that i didn't even notice him in my
**Laura's POV**"I was sent by the beast of the east." Niandra blurted out causing everyone to stop whatever they were doing. Everyone dreaded to hear that name and how can she say it without fear?"What does he want with us?" Elder Draco asked immediately."I don't think I need to explain anything as you have encountered him once or twice if I'm not mistaking. " Niandra stated and I struggled to find the soft lady I met few seconds ago but couldn't. Who sat before me was nothing but a cold and ruthless lady. She looks like a siren but damn it she ain't."Are you a siren? " Sonia asked with jealousy and pure hate in her eyes. Sonia has always been like this, she easily muster up hatred for someone. "I didn't come here for you so I guess I owe you no answer. Niandra replied without soaring Sonia another glance. "So, the beast of the east is the man who —""I don't know what man you're talking about but according to him, he has encountered y'all before. Think about it." Niandra replie
**Laura's POV**It's been paste weeks and now words from anyone pertaining the Spectra but things keeps happening.I couldn't help but imagine the demon Sonia had turned herself into .How absurd! I slowly stared at everyone and could see a mixture of guilt displayed on their faces. Sonia tried to hold up the deviant devilish look but it was clear she couldn't hold it up for long. I've already had enough of their stupidity and I was fed up with everything. I really do not care how Elder Magnus stared at me right now, but honestly, if looks could kill, I'd be dead."Whatever you do, don't you dare think this would be the end of everything... Just put a smile on your face while you still have the chance to do so!" Niandra warned angrily and i was trying to proceed what exactly had happen. " Gone are the days where I'd get scared of you Sonia... You're nothing but a cloud and the moment you disappear, it becomes beautiful all day... " Niandra retorted while she huffed." Sonia, do
**Laura's POV**I got frightened at the sight before me. I didn't know Sonia could go this far by doing this in open. "What do you think you're doing? Don't tell me you're the mastermind of this?" I muttered in shock." Common on, I can be that stupid, no matter how I really want to deal with you, I can't go to this length." Sonia replied with a sly smirk displayed on her face. I don't trust her, not even in this situation. She just made it clear that she wants to deal with me... I can't even let my guards down. I was naive before but she'll suffer. She must suffer. I looked at Maxwell who was still resting in my arms and wondered what I was going to do with him."Why is there a sword in your hand?" I asked curiously, obviously not minding the innocent look on her face.I noticed that Maxwell was beginning to get himself which got me a little bit excited. I looked backwards only to realize that the rouges were still fighting to come in.Maxwell is the son of the beta, he's fathe
**Laura's POV**Two weeks ago, I hosted an Alpha hurdle because I was advised to do so by the council of elders. Everything seems so good now. The Alpha's hurdle was still on and bored me decided to walk around for a while. I stood up and what I had in mind was going to meet up with Maxwell wherever he was. I don't even care if he's with the others.... .I need him. "Laura?" Sonia called me immediately she laid her eyes on me. If she talks like this and behaves like this I don't think we'd ever have issues."How can I help you." I asked her with hands akimbo."Nothing, don't act like anything is special about you, just wanted to have drinks with you." She replied sarcastically rolling her eyes at me.I scoffed and retorted back, I rolled my eye at her too.I really do want to have a very cold drink for real but the thing is, I don't and at the same time, I want to. I can't resist the urge so I'll just have her make it already. "Standing there and drooling at the same time won't make
LAURAI was eating my breakfast silently when a maid walked up to me with a bouquet of flowers. “Good morning, Luna. Someone sent these for you,” she said.I was confused at first but collected it, eager to check the card. “Who is it from?” I asked her.“I…I don't know. A guard just told me to give it to you,” she replied.“Okay, you may go,” I dismissed her.I started hassling the flowers, trying to get the card out but it somewhat got stuck in the flowers. “Where the fuck is it?” I tried looking for it, but it was stuck.“Who is from?” Maxwell inquired. I looked at him with a sarcastic expression on my face. “Can't you see that I'm trying to look for it?” I told him.He raised his hands in surrender. “Sorry,” I heard him mutter. I chuckled at his statement, finally able to get the card out of there.“Who would even send you a card?” Sonia interjected. I didn't bother replying to her messages and just rolled my eyes and was finally able to open up the card.‘I hope when these flower
