Chapter Forty - Two

History:

Nora wandered into the kitchen. It would be minutes now for the other packs to start to arrive. Lori had whipped up something to make it more casual. Even though they would be talking of war, food always seemed to make everything better. Nora reached over and plucked a red grape off its vine and bit into it. She zoned out everything rushing into her mind.

“It's not good to hold things in constantly.” Lori said softly.

“I’m just worried.” Nora said, grabbing another grape.

“War is scary, that's normal to be worried.” Lori said with a small smile.

“It's not the war part that scares me. I’m worried I can't keep them all safe.” Nora said, hearing it outloud made her stomach clench inwards on itself.

The rush to vomit again hit her. She turned, grabbing a hold of the sink and preparing to empty her stomach. She turned on the sink, cupped her hands and let them fill with water. She splashed the water over her face. Trying to let the cold water chase away the feeling.
