Chapter 20: Temisa's rejection

"Stop it, Anita. What nonsense about a mother-in-law are you talking about? I don't think I am even going to accept the marriage proposal anymore. Imagine that I am trying to fit into the company's requirements; now I will have to fit into his mother's requirements too. What for?" Temisa questioned, and Anita swallowed.

"I don't know. Maybe that's how their family wants it," Anita responded calmly, seeing that Temisa was already upset and flaring up.

"I don't care what their family wants. I cannot go into depression because of marriage. When I see him and he asks me out, I will plainly tell him I am not interested, and that settles all this rubbish," Temisa fumed.

"Is that okay, girlfriend? You don't need to be angry about him. Besides, you're not even sure if he's the one who wants the marriage or if it's his parents. My mom says he's probably a jealous person and doesn't like women looking overly attractive to prevent admirers."
