Chapter 5

From that day on, I noticed how oddly Nathan acted. I thought it was because he felt insecure, so I suggested we move out of the dorm and into an apartment again.

He initially disagreed but ultimately gave in when he saw how insistent I was. And so, I excitedly dragged him around to view different apartments.

"The one we just saw had great lighting, Nathan. It's a little high up, though. The one we saw yesterday is on the first floor and is more convenient, but the rental is a little too expensive…" I felt conflicted. Nathan and I were both students; we had to consider several aspects.

"Actually…" Nathan pursed his lips as he looked at me. "I have an apartment near campus."

I widened my eyes. "What?"

"My parents bought it for me when I got into college."

I stood there for a while as I processed this. Then, I said, "I hate rich people."
