Chapter 4

I frowned. Something inside of me told me I didn't like the woman. Still, I answered politely, "Hi."

The woman's smile widened. "Evan told me about your accident. Are you feeling better now?"

Seeing that she was merely concerned about me, I ignored my discomfort and smiled. "Yeah, I'm fine now. My memory is affected, but the doctor said I'll make a full recovery soon."

Evan chuckled and wrapped an arm around the woman's shoulders, making it evident that they were affectionate with each other. He didn't take his eyes off me, though. "You don't need to be so concerned about her, Lauren. Oh, your parents told me that they wanted us to head home this weekend."

He stood in my way, looking arrogant. "It's too bad Lauren and I are going to an exhibition this weekend. I won't be heading back with you."

Lauren smiled at me, seemingly apologetic. "I'm sorry to be eating into the time Evan should be spending with you, Giselle. You wouldn't mind, would you?"
