CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVEN

ALEXANDER

I scoffed. It was unbelievable that my dad would do such a thing. Why would he want to kill Sally. I turned to her, and from the way she kept blinking in shock, it seemed as though she already believed that my dad truly hired assassins to get rid of her.

I held Sally's hands and looked straight into her eyes. A drop of tears escaped her left eyes, and she wiped it away immediately, lowering her face to her shoulder.

"Tell me you don't believe what he just said."

Her hands gradually slipped away from mine. I shook my head continuously before turning to the truck driver.

"Please tell her the truth," I pleaded with him. "Tell us the truth."

"I am telling the truth," he insisted. "I swear it. He was so scared that Sally would sue him and bring him down. That was why he wanted to get rid of her."

I placed my hand on my head and ran my hands through my hair. It was now making sense to me. I recalled that the court case between my dad and Sally happ
