CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTEEN

SALLY

Alexander's pictures when he was a kid were inside the documents. There were a few other things there, but I quickly packed up and let the office. When I got home, I freshened up before going to Alex's room.

I forgot completely about the documents and went to stay with Alex in his room. I tried to be by his side and also to give him a shoulder to cry on.

"I tried to ask my dad about my mom, and she said he's close to me," Alex informed me.

I narrowed my eyes as I quickly considered the thoughts of Diana being Alex's mom. I killed the thoughts immediately. It was probably just a coincidence. Alex nagged about Diana being a pest and how he wasn't sure about what she was up to and why she was acting the way she was.

"You have to calm down, love," I told him.

Alex lay on my shoulders as he tabled one issue after the other. I made him feel relaxed in my arms.

"You know she's not that bad," I told Alex. "You should give her audience. "
