CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND ELEVEN

I felt the presence of my dad immediately when he was led out of the courtroom, and my heart sank into my stomach when I turned around and saw him.

I wasn't used to living without him around and free. He would be there for a long time, and I couldn't do it alone. I suddenly realised that I hadn't made any effort to find out who my mom was, and it was time to know the truth.

I rushed towards my father and hugged him tightly, ignoring the multiple cops who tried to separate us.

"I love you so much, Dad," I confessed.

He chuckled lightly.

"I know that," he told me. "I know you're going to realise that someday. "

I pulled away from the hug gently and turned to the cops. People had gathered around to watch the drama unfold between my dad and me.

"Please, I need to know my mom," I pleaded with him.

He giggled. He didn't seem surprised that I asked. Instead, he seemed amused. I wondered what was amusing about the fact that I wanted to know who
