CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TEN

SALLY

I walked into the courthouse with my fingers tightly locked with Alex's fingers. I was nervous for a whole lot of reasons.

We have been here before, and the outcome wasn't pleasant at all. I didn't want a repetition of that. I was also nervous because I knew that Alex was not okay, and he wouldn't be after the case came to an end.

"You know that you don't have to be here if you don't want to, right?" Alex told me.

I smiled.

I should be the one telling him that he could choose not to be here because he was the one who would get more hurt in the end.

"You don't have to bother about me," I told Alex. "I'd be fine."

The matter of the defamation of my company and my name was brought up again during the court hearing. The prosecutor requited the forger voice note that was provided by Mr Grande. I wouldn't have been happier.
