As I finish my work, I gather my things so that I can go home already. I'm so tired and I still need to review for my upcoming exam. I was about to close the restaurant when I bumped into something hard and when I looked at it I almost dropped my jaw. An adonis man was standing in front of me. He was still wearing office clothes and you couldn't tell if the expression was on his face. I also feel that he is also a little bit drunk.
"Can I dine in?" he asks in a baritone voice while his eyes were half closed. He's probably drunk.
"I'm sorry Sir, but we're close. You can go back tomorrow." I replied politely and continue to close the door.
I saw his forehead wrinkled when I glance at him.
"I'm a VIP here! You should know that. As far as I can see it's not closed yet so I can order my food here." he said irritatingly.
A drunk man in the middle of the night, wanting to take a dine-in in a fine dining restaurant, I think had a problem.I sigh and I stop closing the door. I look sympathetically into his handsome face then open the door widely for him. Maybe he needs a place to relax.
"Come on in, Sir." I welcome him and open the entrance door. He began to walk towards me. He almost fell to the ground due to the spirit of alcohol. Good thing I catch him immediately before his face kisses the ground.I carried his broad arms to guide him to his seat. After sitting down, he looked at me with his drunken face.
"I want to order soup. A soup that could take away the pain right here—" he pinpoint his chest while looking at me with his half-closed eyes.
"—inside my chest. Get it?" he asks and tiredly leans his back on the chair.
I sighed for the nth time. How can I say to this drunk man that we don't have that kind of soup? I may upset him. He looks like a brokenhearted man in the middle of the night.
Instead of upsetting his heart, I just nod at him and went straight to the kitchen to prepare the soup. I made mushroom soup for him. After I am done cooking, I serve it right away to him. I place the spoon, tissue, and glass of water in their places then I stand a few inches away from him.
He tastes the soup and then shifted his gaze to me. I just smile awkwardly.
Is the soup good? I'm not the cook of this restaurant. I don't have any idea if it's good. I just follow the instructions on how to make it.
I mentally slap my face. I hope he likes the soup since he is the VIP in the restaurant. And also, I wanted to make him feel good by eating the soup despite his bad day.
I think I need to take care of him this time.
"Did you cook this?" he asked in a monotone. I gulp and immediately nod at him in response. I saw a glimpse of a smile on his lips but in a matter of seconds, gone instantly. He sighs exaggeratedly.
"Sit down," he commands. I was startled and look at him skeptically.
"Ah. Yes. Yes. I'm sorry, Sir." I apologize and sit down three chairs away from him. Maybe he was distracted by my presence and he can't eat peacefully.
I look at my wristwatch. It's already one in the morning. I need to review my notes but—I can't leave this lonely drunk man here.
" Hey!" he called out which makes me shift my gaze to him.
"Sit here," he commands and pinpoints the chair across from his table.
I look at him skeptically but in the end, I just followed silently his order. There's no harm to sit across from his table anyway.
After sitting, he puts down the spoon in his right hand beside the bowl of soup and wipes his lips with a tissue.
"You know what? I felt unwanted by my fiance a few months ago. And what hurts me the most, when we were preparing for our wedding, she doesn't give any interest. The worst part is she doesn't want to push it anymore." he shared then frustratingly cupped his face. I gulp when I saw the pain draw in his eyes. No doubt, he was in pain inside.
" Uhmm… Sometimes, people come and go to bring us a lesson. We should always remember, we need to accept things to keep on moving. Maybe she has a reason why. And I think you knew what it is. You just can't accept it now but I hope you'll accept it soon." I console his heart and unintentionally touch his shoulder. I immediately withdrew my hand after he notice I held him.
Because of what I did, he looks at me straight in the eyes. I gulp and shyly bow my head. I don't know what he was thinking about right now but I hope it is good."Marry me."
My eyes got widened and look at him intently. As if I was contemplating things.
Did I hear it right?
"P-pardon?" I ask shakingly.
He chuckled and lower his gaze then back to me again. His playful smile fades away in an instant and looks at me intently which makes me gulp.
"I said marry me. I'll give you the money. Just marry me." he replied full of confidence and determination.
My mouth was agape while looking at him.
Is this a joke?
Hailey's POV "Excuse me? Are you out of your mind? Are you asking me to marry you and in return, you will pay me? What do you think of me, a gold digger?" I hissed in disbelief. "Don't you like my proposal? I'm a billionaire. All women are crawling just to be with me and then I offered you what they have died for. Don't tell me you are going to refuse it! Are you that narrow?" He laughed in a sarcastic way Due to anger, my palm quickly landed on his cheek. Yes, I slap him! I don’t care if he is a famous billionaire. He has no right to speak to me like that. "If you think Sir everyone you can buy with your money, well I'm not! I don't need your money and I won't lower my dignity as a woman just to chase you. You are rich but arrogant!" I furiously said and form my hand into a fistball. He rubbed his cheek where I hit him. He looks quite shocked and didn't see it coming. "Don't forget that you are working in my aunt's restaurant, woman! I'm the VIP here! You should respect me!" He
Killian POV That girl is a pain in the ass. "Sir, what happen to your car?" my driver said. "You see that girl in Aunt Melissa's restaurant? She broke the window of my car." I gritted my teeth out of frustration."That beautiful woman? Looks like you saw your counterpart Sir, maybe she's your forever." "Nah ah! I don't believe in love anymore, that's a bullshit thing. All girls are the same, they will leave you hanging. And for that girl, I'll make sure she will pay for what she did." I said. My driver stopped talking and just continued driving. He knew what had happened to me before so he knew I don't talk anymore about that. I no longer believe in love, at first it was fun and okay, you’re both happy and contented with each other, and after a while, they will just leave you without saying something or goodbye. I gasped and leaned my head back in the car seat. I was tired at work and also sleepy because we went to the bar earlier with my friends. Hailey POV I just came
The next day at five o'clock in the morning, Hailey woke up because she still has to review for the examination that would be held at nine o'clock. Just because of the problem she was thinking about last night, she was not able to focus on her notes. She took her book and carried it out of the room, she found her friend sleeping safe and sound in the living room. She carefully laid the books on the sofa just not to make any noise. She does not want to wake up her friend. She slowly approached her friend's direction and picked up the blanket that had fallen and cover it back to her friend's body. After that, she went straight to the kitchen and started cooking their breakfast. It ended quickly because she only cooked fried dishes like hotdogs, bacon, and pancakes. She laid it properly on the dining table and when she was done, she brewed coffee before starting to eat. Her meal only lasted a few minutes due to she was in a hurry. She still has to study. She should have not failed becaus
Uno's POV As they ate, he couldn’t help himself but ask his friend about what he had witnessed earlier. They are rivals in all aspects but Killian and Vaugh will not change as his best friends. "Care to explain what I saw?" He spoke. Killiam stopped eating and looked at him as if asking what he trying to say. "C'mon, KB. I know you knew what I mean." He added and comb his short hair with his fingers. "It's none of your business, Premiere. Stop interrogating me. You're not my mother for Pete's sake." Killian countered which makes him burst into laughter. "It sounds interesting huh." He sing-song. "And what do you mean by that?" Killian asked. "Nah ah! It's just refreshing to see because it's not usual for a man like you to be hot-headed with girls except that woman. But...not bad. She's beautiful and looks kind to look at. But the way how you treat her looks like she owes something big to you." Premier explain then chuckled afterward. "You know what? It's better to shut up your
Hailey is so frustrated right now, she didn't have a class today and also she was on a day off from work. She can't think straight now and she didn't know what to do anymore, today is the day that she needs to pay Killian but she still doesn't have enough money for it. She is thinking to run away but she knows she can't do that because Killian will still find her and she loves her job. Hailey was annoyed as she was still sitting in Killian's office chair, while the young man was overjoyed because of the girl's visible appearance. To this day Hailey still hopes that the young man will retract what he said but how many minutes had passed ago he just kept staring at her? While the young man Killian was very happy because of the visible reaction to the girl, he knew at first that she would not agree to have a fake marriage with him immediately but because he was smart he would use the secret that he learned about the girl in case she did not agree. Later Hailey looked at Killian. "Are you serious about what you're saying?" She asked the young man. "Do you think I am joking?" Killian replied. "Why me? There are so many women out there who want you and adore you. And yet you're choosing me a simple woman and not rich to be your wife, why me? And what if I don't agree?" Hailey asked seriously. "It's none of your business. Take it or leave it. That's all I can offer yo
Killian POV When Hailey came out I quickly followed her, she thought it was all like that. I quickened my pace to catch up with her. And she was right in the elevator so I stopped it from closing. She would have asked more questions when I entered and stood beside her. While she was staring at me. "A-what are you doing here?" She asked. "If you think that it ends here when you already signed the contract, you are wrong," I said. "What do you mean?" Her perplexing question. "Come with me," I said. "What? And why should I come with you? We're done talking and as I remember we don't have anything to talk about." "We're getting married right now. I've prepared everything for my lawyer and godfather who is a judge," I told her which make a surprise. "What? I'm getting married today. Are you serious? I didn't get ready and then you said I'm getting married today?" I looked at her, she was wearing a mini dress and she also a light make-up. What else does she want to fix? Psh! Women
Jade POV I have looked at my watch a few times because until now my friend has not been there. I've been here at the cafe before and she said we'll meet in the afternoon because she has something important to go to, but it's going to be 3 pm now and she's still not here. I'm gonna pull her hair! I took my phone out of my bag to call her. "Hey girl, where are you? Do you know how long I've been waiting for you here?" I burst out after she answers the call. "I'm close to there so don't be in hurry. I told you earlier not to go early," She replied to me. "Excuse me? It's three o'clock so you might not know. It's afternoon!" sometimes my best friend is annoying. "I'm here now. You're too hot-headed. See you. Bye!" She said and dropped the call. That woman! She dropped the call not waiting for my answer. I just put my phone back in my bag and ordered something to eat while waiting for my best friend to arrive, and I also bought her because I know her favorite. Later I saw Hailey en
