Chapter Thirty-Five

Eve nodded and offered to walk them to the door. Before they stepped out of the apartment. Jen whispered into Eve's right ear.

"Remember that you are unemployed and thirty thousand dollars won't walk into your room."

"Thank you so much for coming." Eve appreciated her friends and the three friends shared a group hug.

"I'm sorry we are leaving soon," Olivia said.

"Oh don't you guys worry. Thanks for coming. I appreciate it."

"We will drop by tonight," Jen promised.

"You guys should hurry and get to work before you all get fired," Eve said. They laughed and hurried out.

Eve returned to her living room and sat on the carpet. She was thinking about all that Olivia said regarding her family needs and her rent when her phone suddenly rang.

She cleared her throat, took a deep breath and responded to the call.

"Hi mom!" she said.

"Hello Eve!" came Eleanor's voice.

"Eleanor? What happened to mom? Where is she?" Eve asked. She began to panic.

"Mom is fine Eve. Dad took her out for a walk."
