Chapter Thirty Nine

Dennis wrapped his arms around Kelsey and tried to make her sit but she fell back to the floor.

"Open your eyes. Kelsey, please stay with me." he cried out and swept her off the cold floor.

"Damn it!" he yelled and ascended the stairs with Kelsey in his arms.

He hurried to her room and met the door wide open and he was glad. He ran into the room and carefully placed Kelsey on the bed. He tucked a pillow under her neck and wrapped a blanket around her.

Kelsey had passed out. Dennis began to pace aimlessly around the room. If she fails to open her eyes in a few minutes more, he'll be forced to drive her to a hospital.

While he was still analysing his thoughts, Kelsey's lips parted and a silent cough escaped. He ran to the bed and sat beside her.

Kelsey opened her eyes slowly and blinked severally. Dennis was standing above her.

"Water! I need water," she begged.

"I'll be right back."

Dennis darted out of the room and returned with a glass of water almost immediately after he left. Kelse
