Chapter Forty Four

Kelsey got home and Dennis wasn't there. She freshened up and tried to sleep but ended up tossing from one edge of the bed to another. She couldn't stop thinking about her encounter with Cassie at Rovado earlier. She wondered whether other people had seen Cole leading her up the stairs that night.

To get her mind off the thoughts of Cole and the investigation, Kelsey decided to prepare dinner. She made chicken sauce and pasta. She was about to set the table when Dennis arrived.

"I can see someone has made dinner," Dennis commented.

He headed to his room. Kelsey smiled. Dennis returned a few minutes later. He had changed into a blue shot over a brown tee shirt. Kelsey had finished setting the table and was waiting for him to show up.

Dennis sat and immediately went for the bowl of pasta. "So it's pasta and?"

Kelsey carefully pushed the bowl of chicken sauce to him. He uncovered the bowl.

"Pasta and chicken sauce," he added with a broad smile.
