I quickly snapped my face away from his lips, my hand flying to my mouth as if to trap the apology inside. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean it!" I exclaimed, my voice trembling.

Before Lorenzo could respond, I flung open the door and ran out of the car, my heart racing. I could hear him calling my name, "Eva, wait!" but I didn't dare look back.

I sprinted down the street, my legs pumping furiously as I tried to put as much distance between us as possible. I didn't want him to follow me, didn't want to face him after what I'd just done.

Finally, I turned a corner, ducking into a narrow alleyway that was dimly lit and eerily quiet. I slowed to a stop, leaning against the wall to catch my breath.

As I looked around, I realized that this wasn't a good place to be alone. The alley was deserted, with tall buildings looming on either side, casting long shadows that seemed to writhe on the ground.
