I ran through the dense forest alongside Erica, our footsteps pounding against the earth. Finally, we stopped and looked back, seeing no one pursuing us.

"Fuck!" I exclaimed, running my hands through my hair in frustration.

"Can you stop screaming?" Erica snapped, her expression stern. "What if they hear us and come for us? It's all your fault."

I scoffed, turning to her. "You're not a saint, Erica. And don't try to tell me what to do."

"I'm done following you, Mona," her anger flared, her voice rising. "It's not like I killed James; that was your doing. I'm not a murderer. I'M OUT."

My grip on her arm tightened. "Where do you think you're going? You can't just leave."

"Watch me. We're over," Erica said, her eyes flashing with a firm tone in her voice.

I felt a surge of panic, my mind racing. "You can't just walk away."

Erica's gaze hardened. "I can, and I will."
