Toby's hand reached up, his fingers brushing against the side of my face. He caressed my skin, his touch sending shivers down my spine. I felt frozen, unable to move as he leaned in closer, his lips almost touching mine.

But just suddenly, his phone rang, jolting us apart. I quickly pushed him away, my heart racing with nervousness. I shifted back on the sofa, my hand clutching the side of my dress tightly.

Toby apologized, "Excuse me," and turned around to answer the call.

As he spoke on the phone, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. I was relieved the moment had been interrupted, but also curious about what would have happened if his phone hadn't rung.

I watched Toby, his back still turned to me, and wondered who was on the other end of the call. Was it Lorenzo, checking in on me? Or someone else entirely?

Toby's voice was low and husky, his words indistinguishable. I found myself straining to listen, my ears perked up with interest.
