"Stupid anatomy!" I began to fuss over the pages of Human anatomy, as I always do when I study, and I don't want to. Am I really the only person in this world who is so interested in medicine, who really want to learn about human body without actually learning anatomy? I mean, who even came up with all that Latin names for literally every little bone, muscle and blood vessels we have.
Big test today my ass.Who even forced me to go to medical school if I knew how much I have to learn every day, and the day after that, and the day after that too! Shaking my head when I think about the reason why, became a regular twitch. And that reason is, neither more nor less, the Head surgeon of Seattle hospital. Of course, my mother. Tending to medicine comes naturally, they say. Like mother, like daughter. Maybe not in our case. I mean, don't get me wrong, the idea of becoming a surgeon is more then appealing and I always dreamed about becoming someone who can save another one's life! I am just not sure I want to become a mere shadow of her, most flawless women everyone's know. I am just a normal girl with a normal life and most important, a girl who is eager to learn and find her place in this world. My ass."Stop moaning and get ready! We will be late and do you know who hates that? Huh?" Hannah's voice always struck me like a huge thunderbolt. I heard her throughout our apartment and I knew she is ready to come and get me! Her weird nature tend to surprise me almost every day. One time she is super excited for class, the other times well, she's just... Me."Fuck, Gorilla!" I snapped from my self-pity when well-known face of an old woman popped in my head. I think that everyone has that on teacher that gives them chills. That one teacher who, and you know that for sure, it has every power to put you down and would when and if the opportunity is right. Chills went down my spine and I shook a little remembering I will see her today, the very first day of our new chapter on this journey to become well paid, I mean- well respected surgeons!I got interrupted by my same-aged best friend and my roommate, Hannah Brown. She's nothing like me. Total opposite of my long blond hair and green eyes. She is so much prettier than me with her perfectly short black hair and those dark eyes which are always skillfully concealing her naughty side. We are best friends since high school when she planted one of our professor a dead rat in principal's office. The moment I saw her, I knew she has her bad side that would take me in trouble instantly! I like that about her, because, to be honest, I wasn't such an angel myself. ***"Why are you here? Princess couldn't get what she wanted today?" She looked at me, narrowing her eyes as she clicked with her tongue."What? No." I said offendedly. "Why are YOU here?" I pointed out the 'you' part just on purpose as I reflexively rolled my eyes at her."I'm Hannah. Hannah Brown." She said visibly annoyed. I opened my eyes widely as I remembered that on my way here, a few students mentioned a girl named Hannah that hide a real dead rat in principal's office this morning! Oh my God, she is so brave! Stupid, but brave! I improved my posture purely out of respect for this young lady and I smiled acidly. You know, she is obviously dangerous after all!"My name is Jessica Miller." I smiled again as I reached my hand for hers. Of course she didn't take it so I quickly pulled it back and slowly leaned on my chair. I felt really stupid."So Princess, tell me. Who did you piss off?" She asked teasingly. It was my turn now to roll my eyes."No one. Just trying to see if my mom would react. She never came here, I'm not even sure she knows where my school is so.. You know, just trying to...""Get her reaction. Got it." Hannah finnished the sentence for me. I felt some kind of empathy in her voice so I felt a little ashamed. I came out wrong, she will avoid me during the rest of our years here, that's for sure. Nobody wants to hang out with 'mommy issues girl"..."You two!" We both twitched when our principal came storming in! "Why on Earth would you do that!" He continued to yell so I leaned back even more but not Hannah. She just sat there as if nothing is going on! Wow! "Who would do such a thing! Why?!" He was pacing up and down and my head was just following his red face as it went from bright red to more of a rotten cherry red. Hannah chuckled for a second and I froze. Is she really not scared?"You." He stopped pacing and leaned his red face towards her, placing his hands on his desk. "One thing is making small stupid things almost every day Brown but dead rat? A DEAD RAT?" He yelled again and I swallowed a huge dumpling. Hannah was still sitting straight in her chair, not with even a small reaction! How?!"You crossed your line her miss! You really did! I told you last time, one more of your pranks and you are out!" He said pushing himself backwards as he finally sat down at his desk."What? No!" Hannah jumped and I twitched again. This was her first sign of any emotion!"I'm done with you Brown. Done." He calmly said as he wrote something on the paper."No please. I am sorry, I really can't be expelled from another school! My dad is going to kill me!" She started talking really fast and I realised she is genuinely scared!"Well-""I did it!" I interrupted him as I jumped up. My body started shaking really bad but I was totally down for this!"Miss Miller." He looked me sadly. "I know who did it.""No. It was me. Not Hannah. Expel me." I stood by my ground. He didn't say a word, he just sighed deeply. I was still holding my breath not knowing what to do next. All I could think about is how my mom will be super pissed and I kind of liked that idea."Listen to me. Both of you. Stop doing whatever this is and start learning. Focus on that instead of doing pranks. Especially with dead animals. I will not make a fuss now but do one more thing? You are both expelled. Am I making myself clear?""Yes.""Yes.""Why did you do that?" Hannah asked me when we came out of principal's office."Oh you mean thank you." I looked at her and smiled."Thank you Princess." She hugged me and walked away. I smiled complacently and walked away too. Oh we will so going to meet again in this office! ***"Yes, Gorilla. It's not like this is a first year..." She rolled her eyes as she came in my room. "One may think it's able to get used to that stupid face from year to year-" She started but I interrupted her by moaning loudly."It's our second year, I know. But it's the beginning of the year, and you know beginnings are hard." I was still packing my books in my, to brag a little, Armani black bag with premeditated and sore feeling in my guts knowing that the first professor I'll see today is Gorilla. To be precise, mrs.Tomlinson. She is a very small but strong woman in her late 40's, with bleached hair and a hint of gray hairs and of course, very strict and serious look. She basically looks like those grannies which parents tells you not to get too close because she's too weird. Hated by 564 students of University of Washington, medical school where students are pretending to be sick whenever they have her on their schedule."Don't be such a cuckoo." Hannah told me, rolling her eyes at me, waiting by the door with her books. Although, she is a A+ student, she always carries 2, or 3 books tops, a small notebook and a pencil in her hands, if she finds one. Me, on example, wears a bag full of books, lots of pencils, my phone, make-up and my favorite magazine, Cosmopolitan. I go nowhere if I don't have my Cosmo with me. Gotta have my Cosmo. Not that it's important for a future surgeon but you know..."I heard there's a new sexy professor in Latin." She added playing cheerfully with her pencil in her mouth. She knows I hate to see that. But don't judge. Being a medicine student gives you a third eye which gives you microscopic examination of bacteries all around you. She hates it too. But that only means she will do that just because it annoys me. I sighed deeply and finally stood up."Yea? Who?" Suddenly, I started packing my bag a little faster then I used to when I realized, I don't have Latin until Wednesday. Hannah noticed my disappointed face and smiled huskily."Oh for the Love of God Princess. You'll get wrinkles before thirties!" She said teasingly and smiled. When I remembered that I really have to go, that my plan of staying here lying on the couch and making a pig of myself by eating chips isn't a plan that will provide me money, I decided to walk through that door. With Hannah, my spirit animal and my other half, the person who is more excited to go to school than some biggest nerd.Leaving my beloved couch, I was ready to face Gorilla. As I entered a hallway of the college, first I noticed the freshmans. Hannah and I were once that. Nobodys. We call them fresh meat for Gorilla now. You know, the scary, gray and strict one? Freshmans are everywhere. Lost and confused. Neither of them know each other, they are all alone in this. Accept the ones who got here with their friend, like me and Hannah. When we first walked in this hallway we were just as confused as they are now. Well, me. Hannah was taking it like a champ! ***"Wow.""I know."We were both super excited when we recieved a letter from the principal of the college that they will be happy to have us on board. Our best acknowledgement of past years as med students and working our asses off. University of Washington is one of the top choices you can go if you want to become the best doctor, surgeon or even just a nurse! Their best students get the chance to win internship in Seattle Hope hospital.
Hannah noticed my pale face, and probably some sweat drops on my forehead. I felt my whole body became numb and my heart was beating so loud I thought everyone in this room can hear it."Are u ok?” She asked me very slowly but I couldn't answer. I tried to, but I just couldn't. “Mrs.Tomlinson? Jessica is not feeling well.” Hannah exclaimed loudly with her voice shaking. Under normal circumstances, I would get all girly about the fact that she is genuinely worried about me. Now, all I could think about is the fact that he will see me and I can't risk that!“No, no, shut up!” I began slapping Hannah under the table, so nobody can see me. She noticed but she didn't even looked at me, she was just shaking her head in disapproval. She was waiting for Gorilla to come over. Students started looking over their shoulders, they whispered something I couldn't understand which was so annoying but whatever. I'm really not in the mood. Will he recognize me?
"Whose son?" George said confused. Hannah and I looked at each other and felt really stupid and kind of embarrassed. We forgot that he don't know who the Gorilla is. He is new here."Oh, nothing, nothing..." Hannah said desiring to change the subject. We both looked down at our papers not wanting to look at George. He don't know that Gorilla is his mom? Well, that's awkward."You know that he can hear you Jessica?" Hannah looked me with contempt. I opened my eyes widely when I realized I'm saying out loud what I mean. Seriously, I need to stop doing that! I just smiled acidly to George regretting my thoughts. How can I be even more stupid when that's at least expected?"It's ok... I mean, she kinda reminds of that big monkey who tries to eat the whole town I guess .." He said pensively staring at the ceiling. We smiled. It's cute that he knows how to make fun of himself and you could see that it's working on Hannah. "So, I've b
"Ugh, try to concentrate!" I said to myself while studying health care. I can't get my head straight. All I can think of is him. Us, sleeping together, our kiss yesterday... I just can't focus on anything else."Then go out." Hannah added entering my room. She threw herself on my bed, lying on her stomach, leaning on her both hands, looking at me like a small child. "No way!" I shot back at her, gently hitting her with a book. She giggled. I sat on the edge of the bed straightening up. I sighed deeply, thinking how would a nice, hot shower help me for some time."What, you're afraid you will hook up with some other professor?" She smiled and turn herself on her back, playing with her hair. I glanced over to her, not even slightly surprised by her sarcastic comments but she didn't mind that. She was in her own world too and I think I know what's borhering her!"Shut up." I said quietly and she quickly stood up like she remembered s
I'm nervous. Very nervous. Stop being nervous."Fuck!" I poked my eye with my new mascara! Why can't I do make up like every other girl?!"You dead?" Hannah jumped into my bathroom. I turned myself to her, and she smiled when she saw my one black eye. "Ugh, didn't anyone teach you how to use mascara?" She sighed and took mascara from my hand."Not in the eye, on the eyelashes, I got it, I got it..." I rolled my eyes but soon as I felt content of mascara in one of them, I almost cried. "Fuck!" I sighed."You are trying too much." She lifted my head and start cleaning my eye with small cotton wool. She was very gentle, so I looked puzzled."Why aren't you freaked out?" I asked when she cleaned the whole eye, and I looked myself in the mirror. She took a breath but didn't breath out as she was making sure she took away all the mascara leftovers."Hmmm, let me think..." She put her finger to her l
First, let me tell you something.I am so happy and flattered that you're reading my book. I know I have many mistakes, spelling or other but I am trying my best to make this special. I received messages like "Your book is like Gray's Anatomy." No it's not -.- It just has a story with doctors and Seattle. Big deal. But yes, the GA is my favorite show so yes, I did get inspired by it. I assure you, it is NOT nor WILL BE like GA. I do not copy anything. I'm done for now :P Thanks again for reading and prepare for much drama then you expected. ;)Yours, TJ xoxo---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I woke up in a room with a white ceiling and walls. Just a couple of simple pictures on them, and a huge window with the most beautiful look. I realized, my mom pulled some relations since I am feeling like I'm in the five star hotel, not a ho
"You're awake..." I heard a soft, familiar beautiful voice talking to me while stroking my hair."Mike..." I said peacfully, still not opening my eyes. I knew that's him. I heard a small giggle and my heart wanted to explode. How can I be so into this guy?"How are you feeling?" He was still talking to with his soft voice which was making my body melt. He stopped stroking my hair and I finally opened my eyes and sat up."I am okay but my ribs hurt." I said weakly. He kissed me on my cheek barely touching my face, just that I can feel his fresh breath on my skin. Fresh mint. His breath always smells like fresh mint."I missed you on our date." He said playfully, letting me go, and looking straight in my eyes. His eyes were shiny and wattery, it looked like he is genuinely worried."Oh stop it." I said shyly covering my face with hands. I heard he chuckled."So, what the doctor said? I mean, your mom?" He smiled widely from ea
"You okay?" Hannah asked me after meeting ended. In that moment, I didn't care about the fact that my internship is accepted here as well as Hannah's, George's and some two other students. All I could think of that gorgeous woman named Ann Dupont. Who is she?"Yea..." I said quietly and walked away."Jessica, wait!" Hannah started following me but then George came."I'll wait for you in my room." I turned to Hannah. "George, listen, and try to understand." I turned to George. They both nodded and I sighed. I turned away and start walking towards my room. Sister, my ass!I said in my head. There's no way she is his sister. That beautiful? And did anybody noticed that big diamond ring on her finger? But then again, I didn't saw any ring on Mike... Well, he will explain, and this will all be a huge misunderstanding. I think."Baby!" Mike jumped off my bed and hugged me. I was shocked. I never saw him in that light before. "Wh
