DINNER

Immediately Alpha Alcide entered the pack house, he headed towards the living room as he could not help but hear some voices coming from that place. Before he entered, he overheard Serafine arguing with one woman, and out of confusion, he pushed the door open and then he entered. The first person his eyes locked with was Serafine and he could not help but notice the look in her eyes. A look she was trying to hide from him. For an unknown reason, immediately he saw that look in her eyes, he had this urge to bring hell on earth on the person responsible for that look. His face drifted off to where the women were sitting and then his look darkened. His aura started emanating all over the room as he looked at the women with anger.

Of course, he knew who the women were, they were the wives of his elders. Just as he was about to speak, the woman arguing with Serafine spoke with a guilty tone

“Alpha, what a pleasant surprise”

“Pleasant indeed. What is the reason for your visit and why was tension all over this room before I entered?” Alcide added, casually walking towards Serafine. Seeing this, Serafine’s heart leaped as she anticipated him standing before her. Just as he reached her, he sat down on the couch, giving some distance between them. Serafine felt so nervous with his presence and then, she suddenly grew conscious of herself.

“Oh it is nothi…..” just before one of the women could finish her sentence, the woman who was arguing with Serafine spoke, cutting her off

“Oh Alpha, we all came to congratulate your wife and enlighten her on the necessary things she needs to know, but it seems we are nothing but a joke to her. She called us all sorts of names, categorizing us like we are nothing before your eyes” the woman added with a look that felt almost real. Anyone listening to her would certainly believe her words but they were not enough to fool Alcide. The women beside her could not say a word as most of them were Scared of her.

“Do not tell me you are angry with the words of a little woman? Come on, there are five of you against a single lady, how could her words make you this emotional.”

Hearing those words from Alcide, Serafine could do nothing but stare at Alcide out of appreciation. She was surprised as this was the first time someone would stand up for her and she had barely known this man for three weeks. Feeling her stare on him, Alcide looked into her eyes, and for a moment there, he felt happy seeing the look in her eyes now.

‘Did her look change by my words or what? But I did not say anything to bring about that look ’ Alcide thought within himself.

“Girl drama, I can never understand it”, Saying this, he stood up and left the room, leaving the woman who argued with Serafine in shame. The other women in the room after seeing how the alpha stood up for Serafine, showed a remorseful look on their faces while the second woman whispered to the rest.

“I told you guys to behave before we got here, now look at what has happened. Even if you don’t want her as our Luna, must you show it at the first meeting? Now we must look for a way to appease the alpha because I have a feeling that he is angry with us”.

Ignoring the women, Serafine stood and asked

“Is there anything left?” Seeing no response from them, she stood up and left the room leaving the rest of the women in shame.

Serafine woke up to a knock on her door. After the whole scenario with those women, she went straight to her room, lay on her bed, and fell asleep immediately dreaming about Alcide. It was more of déjà vu than a dream, as in her sleep, she saw Alcide rescuing her from the evil ones, after which he confessed his love to her.

“What is it?” Serafine said to the person behind the door

“It is time for dinner and the alpha has asked to have dinner with you this night,” A maid said behind the door. Hearing this, Serafine immediately jumped up from the bed and rushed to the bathroom to get ready.

She could not believe this. Was luck on her side today? Serafine could not help but wonder as she never expected the alpha to ask her to join him for dinner, ever, and so, this was a surprise. She got ready, but she did not wear anything that special as it was just dinner, but even her not-so-special dress looked so gorgeous on her as she had the body to fit any dress and the looks to carry the dress. Serafine left her room and descended the stairs, heading towards the dining hall. When she got there, one of the guards pushed the door open, letting her in and the sight she saw was something to behold. Alcide was sitting down on a chair by the head of the table and the sight of him was just marvelous.

“Having dinner while standing won’t be a pleasant sight you know” Alcide said trailing his gaze from her feet to her face. His eyes lingered a little on her chest.

After hearing his words, Serafine snapped from her gaze and walked towards the table. On getting there, she sat down on the chair beside Alcide and she felt so nervous sitting so close to him. Just being this close to him made her remember the first time she met him, as he was shirtless. She looked at him and when she felt him staring at her, she felt embarrassed as he caught her. She quickly let go of all those thoughts before it would get her into trouble.

“Just who are you?” Alcide asked with a curious look in his eyes directed at Serafine and Serafine was confused with that question and it was all over her face.
