BRUISED

“I need to cool off for a while,” Alpha Alcide said just as he left the room. For a reason unknown to him, there was this negative feeling that overwhelmed him whenever he thought that Serafine was truly trying to escape with a guy she might have romantic feelings for.

He was about to leave when he saw his assistant approach him

“Alpha,” his assistant said as he bowed to him

“Any news?” Alpha Alcide replied

“There is no current news about his location but we found something Alpha” Saying this, his assistant showed a band to Alpha Alcide.

Immediate Alcide saw the band, a look of shock and fear flashed through his eyes and he immediately hid the emotion before his assistant could notice

‘This can’t be. I once knew someone who had this exact hand band. No, she’s dead and I am probably overthinking things’ Alcide thought within himself. After he was able to compose himself, he looked up at his assistant

“Where did you get this band from?”

“We saw it near the spot where the car was parked” his assistant replied

“Ok then. I’d hold on to this for now. Before then, Find the man at all costs. I have a feeling that there is more to this. I must find out who the man was and what he was doing around my pack. Also, he is not just a mere wolf since he was able to escape with Serafine without alerting any of the pack guards, it is suspicious” Alpha Alcide said after which he thought to himself

‘Only a wielder of magic could pull such a stunt and the only wolf that could do that was his father’s late wife and his so-called stepmother. It was not until after his father’s death that he found out that she used magic to make his father fall for her and it was not natural. So, who else could this be? Before his mother’s death, she told him that her son died a week before her so how is this possible?’.

Alpha Alcide felt as if someone was watching and just when he was about to be on alert, a flowery scent wafted into his nose and he quickly figured out who the scent belonged to. He smirked before he finally left the pack house.

”Alpha Alcide, it is such a pleasure to have you here. Plus, you came unannounced despite your busy schedule. I am greatly honored” Alcode’s father said as he sipped on the liquid in his cup. At first glance, one would think it is wine but in a closer look and after sniffing it, one would realize that it is blood; fresh human blood.

Noticing the sarcasm in his words, Alcide crossed his legs and spoke

“Oh, I could not help but come over as soon as I heard that a stranger was in my pack. I guess my people are not so familiar with anyhow people”. Alcide could not help but smile within after he saw the way Alpha Drin frowned with a look of hatred in his eyes. It was so evident as he did not even try to hide it even for a little bit.

Faking concern, Alpha Drin added “ And oh, I hope you are taking care of my precious daughter. It is not easy for a father to let go of his daughter just like that but I guess we just have to do all we can to please our people”. The way Drin said it, one would think that he was remorseful and that he was a caring father who had no chance but all that could not fool Alcide. He saw through him and although he had no intention of poking into the matter, he could not help but feel sorry for Serafine for having such a heartless father.

“Oh, she is well protected in my pack. Way protected than she could ever be in your pack. I could not help but notice the bruise marks on her skin. (scoffs). Should I say you failed as an alpha when you would not even protect your family talk-less your pack? Makes me wonder who made you Alpha in the first place” Alpha Alcide said with a harsh look towards Alpha Drin. He was very serious. On his first meeting with Serafine, he noticed those marks but he did not say anything about it because it was none of his business.

Suddenly, Alpha Drin smashed the cup he was holding on the floor and it all shattered into pieces. He stood up harshly and just as he was about to lash at Alpha Alcide, he collected himself and looked back at him reciprocating the harsh look.

“ I am more than capable of caring for my family and pack. And just so you know, because you have my daughter as a wife does not give you the audacity to question my competency. In any way, I am still a man, unlike you who has rumors flying around that you are gay. I am so sure you have not touched your wi..” Alpha Drin lashed out and just before he was about to complete his words, the table flipped and suddenly, his back was laced upon the wall with Alpha Alcide holding his neck tightly. His men were about to retaliate but he stopped them before they could do anything.

“ Say one more word about my sexuality and see how I am going to rip your head off. And oh, I am so sure I can please your entire household more than you can last in bed with your cheating wife. Spoiler alert, your so-called wife is fucking your beta. Makes me wonder if you still have a thing” Saying this, Alpha Alcide dropped him and he fell on the floor.

“ Just be happy I’m in a good mood or else, this would have turned messy”. Saying this, Alcide looked at his so-called men and smirked looking at them like were not worth his time and energy.

“Your pride makes me wonder how you would feel when you find out that your so-called wife is bruised beyond repair. Makes me wonder if you would still love her the same and want to be with her when you find out that she has been used and that she is not as pure as she looks”

Alcide who was about to leave the place halted when he heard the words of Alpha Drin. He only smirked and said

“At least, she is more useful than you would ever be”. Saying this, Alpha Alcide walked out of the house.
