BLAIR’S POV

Early the next morning, there was a knock on the door, and I hurried out of bed to get the door. A part of me, hoping it was Brian.

I opened the door and found Sebastine at the other side of the door.

Glad to be having company, I threw my arms around his neck, holding him in a tight embrace.

“We have to leave,” he said, pulling me out of the house by the hand.

“I can't leave,” I protested.

“What if Brian returns?” I asked. “Or Stacy? What if she wants something and Brian pays for my absence?” I shared my wild thoughts.

“What if she returns for you?” Sebastine asked me.

“You'd be the next she comes for,” he said, “and heaven knows what she'll do to you if she can treat someone she loves like she is treating Brian.”

Sebastine's concerns were valid and I couldn't argue. I was still finding it hard to believe that Stacy didn't mind chopping Brian into bits.
