BLAIR’S POV

“I’m sure you were never at the company, Miss. Williams,” Jennifer said, right after I narrated my both encounters at the company to my father.

“What?” I blurted, my jaw dropped.

‘Was this a joke?’ My mind was running wild.

“I was at the company a few weeks ago, and you personally told me that the company was in a bad place,” I said, my tone was gradually rising and I was losing all my mind.

“Uhm, Miss. Williams,” Jennifer called softly.

“I haven’t seen you in the office since forever,” she said,

“But I am sure that even if you were here, I couldn’t have given you the report of a struggling company,”

“Mrs. Jane Williams manages the company well, and we have not had a reason to struggle.”

“She works tirelessly to see that the company runs smoothly and even without paying herself, she reinvests to boost the company’s capital.” Jennifer said, avoiding eye contact with me.

When I observed critically, I noticed her gaze was more distant than it was.
