BLAIR’S POV I fought back, trying to loosen her grip on me. “Last I checked, I do not report to you as the police,” I said. BLAIR’S POV“Ronald is my boyfriend,” I said. “He’s only here to support me, because I was too afraid to come here by myself.” Jane and Ronald were taken aback.I stared into the Ronald’s eyes, until he eventually had to buy into my lie. “This is ridiculous.” Jane blurted. “Why is that?” I queried. “Am I too young to have a boyfriend?” “Mother,” I called in a very sarcastic and emphatic tone. The look on the officer’s face immediately shut Jane up. “Mrs. Williams, you do know that it is terrible to try to implicate someone else, but I am willing to let this slide, because I understand the need to protect your daughter and also it will be unfair to overlook your long line of good work in the force,” the officer said. BLAIR’S POV I felt crippled, now that my child was now out there, in Jane’s face. This was a piece of information I felt she was willing and able to use against me and even though my father did not intentionally reveal it to her, I was still mad at him for putting it out there. The only thing I ever asked of him, he had failed to do and I was both mad and panicking. My father walked out of my room, after Jane walked in, but that did not resolve the problem. Since my father did not, I also did not bother offering any explanation to Jane. BLAIR’S POV Very luckily for Ronald and I, we realized ourselves, just before we locked lips and was able to fight the strong force of attraction that was pulling us together. It was a miracle for us both to realize that we were pushed by our broken hearts and the need for company on both our paths. However, crossing the awkwardness of that moment, only meant one thing- I could not leave Ronald all by himself here. I might not be so lucky to be here in time to save him from harming himself again. “Please, come with me,” I pleaded over and over. “Leave me to die here, Blair,” Ronald repeatedly replied. “See, the fact that you are requesting death makes it even scarier,” I said, “Ronald, please,”“If I am going to figure this out, I need you.” I said, “If Jennifer is going to get any justice, then only you and I, who knows that she didn’t die in a freak accident like it is acclaimed, only us can do something about this, give her the justice she deserves.” I spoke extensively,

BLAIR’S POV With Jane around and my father still in love with her and holding her in such high admiration, my only option was to continue lying to my father. “Ronald’s house caught on fire and he lost pretty much everything,” I said.“I was going to tell you, but I waited until you got back from the hospital, since I didn’t want to bother you much over the phone,” I said. My father clearly showed his displeasure in his eyes, but he and I were still trying to get along, after years of being maltreated in his care. He was still trying to make up for the years he joined Jane to treat me like less of a person, so he did not bother questioning my decisions. After we perfectly sold the lie of Ronald’s catching fire and him only needing to be here for a few days, my father took a deep breath and broke the silence first. “I’m sure you can extend hospitality for the next couple of days,” he said. “Thank you so much, father,” I hugged him tightly. BLAIR’S POV My father did not shut down the idea, like I hoped he would, and that left Ronald and I having to share a room for the night. We both laid in bed, staring at the ceiling for hours. My eyes were wide open and could not get any sleep.Between Ronald and I, there was no denying that there was a very strong attraction between us. At this point, I found it difficult to tell whether it was the vulnerable state of both of us, or if there was really something here for both of us. However, it felt so wrong to even think of an attraction to Jennifer’s boyfriend, barely over a week after her demise, especially since I knew that her involvement with me was what got her killed.Ronald and I were selling the relationship idea really well, and all Jane could do was suspect otherwise. The way he looked at me and the obvious connection we had was more convincing by the minute. Another thing that worked in our favor, was the private nature of both Jennifer and Ronald. BLAIR’S POV For the next three days, Ronald and I lived the happy couple life to the best of our abilities. We shared a room, sat side by side each other at every meal, which was now customary to be as a family at the dining table.Ronald would hold my hand at the slightest chance he got, and he would give me pecks and I would do the same, every time Jane was watching. My father was also getting really fond of Ronald’s presence too. They watch television shows and sports together, talk about business and laugh over dad jokes and the bond they shared was greatly pissing Jane off. Ashley was the only one who was clueless, in all of this, and I was living for the joy of seeing Jane want to run mad over the family I was building. Ronald was a very intelligent man, so it didn’t take long for my father to adapt to him. My father was willing to love Ronald, as long as he made me happy, and since I had been doing a great job in being happy, putting behind all the hurt and pain behind me

He was seated on the floor, with his back leaning on the bed.I simplified my dilemma by running after Ronald, since Brian had chosen to be here on Jane’s invitation. I was so convinced that he had connived with Jane, for the sole purpose of making my plan with Ronald fall apart. Even though Ronald and I very much understood that this was all pretense, he ran from me and I was also quite interested in making him feel better. “You are pregnant?” Ronald queried, as I sat beside him, right there on the floor. I took a deep breath and then gave an affirmative nod. “Why didn’t you tell me?” came his next question. “I didn’t think it was necessary,” I whispered. He nodded.
