CHAPTER 011

SYLVIA

I paced around my room, trying to calm my racing thoughts, hoping no trail was left to be tracked.

Lina who laid on the bed few mins away, had already slept off.

The door swung open with no permission, and Tasha walked in with a mean look spread across her face, with pride all over her as she moved in staring round with disgust.

"Lina, get up. " I said to my daughter with heist tapping her up from her nap.

"Mama, but why? I'm tired and want to rest. " She replied looking lost yet with sadness enveloped on her face.

"Go play out with the other children, I have a visitor, you can come later to rest. " I demanded as she looked pissed at Tasha and hopped out to play.

"Welcome back to the pack," Tasha said, as her sarcasm dripped like venom. "I see you're still as beautiful as ever, Sylvia." She added as she paced her study heading for a mini chair by the bed.

My heart sank. I hadn't expected her to confront me so soon. Fear crept up my spine, making my palms sweat and shivers run through the whole of me.

"Do you need any help or cure? If not it's best you leave" I said, trying to sound firm despite the betrayal in my voice.

"Excuse you, a cure or help? Nahh nom of that is needed. "

She blurted out with a nonchalant attitude. She relaxed even more as her eyes glinted with malice. I could feel my thought battling if she recognized me and why she had come, especially after such disastrous attack on the pack.

"Sylvia, Sylvia. I see you're back to your old tricks," she said, her voice dripping with disdain. "Trying to creep in to our pack again, huh?" She added words as she swinged her feet.

I swallowed hard, my mind raced faster making my heart beat pump harder. Does she recognize me? Of course, she does I guess. What must she be up to? I rumbled words in my head as I stared a distance at her.

"Tasha, do you... know me and how? " I stammered, trying to play dumb to her trap, as though I had no idea what she all meant with her manner of approach.

Tasha's laughter sent shivers down my spine making chill run down my soul.

"How could I not recognize someone who tried to steal my man?" Her gaze pierced mine, as I felt exposed already.

I shivered like someone catching a cold as I tired to stay strong. So my identity to her is already revealed? My thoughts baffled me.

Fear clawed at my chest. This feels bad that she recognizes me already. What if she tells the Alpha? Thoughts bantered through and fore in my head as we both stared in silence for a while.

"You're still as cunning as ever, aren't you?" Tasha continued, her voice laced with pain. "Thinking you can just walk back in here and no one will notice? " She added her words as she stood to her feets.

I forced a faint smile, trying to ease the tension running deep within me. "Tasha, I..." I blurted.

"Don't even try to deny it," she snapped interrupting my words, as her eyes flashed with anger. "I know all about your little schemes, Sylvia. " She added.

My eyes widened in shock unhearing her, my anxiety increased as shivers ran down my spine making goosebumps pop out all over me. What does she know?

"Tasha, what do you want from me?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady and bold.

Tasha's look widened nonchalantly. " Well, as you can see I'm only here to just catch up, old friend." Her tone was twined with insincerity.

I raised my head straight to her's, as my brows furrowed a bit. "Catch up?" I responded looking a bit confused.

"Yes of course, catch up. " Her sarcasm was noticeable as she responded.

I forced a laugh, trying to play along, even though my thoughts were scattered. "Great. Nice catching up with you too... Tasha. " I acknowledged words back to her, letting out a faint smile.

Tasha's gaze lingered on mine, as I sensed a hidden agenda. Why is she still stand, wouldn't she leave? I thought to myself.

"You know, Sylvia, I'm surprised you'd dare show your face here again," she added again, her voice dripped with malice.

My fear rose more making me tensed. Is she going to expose me to the Alpha?

"I've changed, Tasha," I lied, trying to sound convincing. I needed her to just leave.

Tasha's laughter was cold and mirthless. "People like you don't change. You're still manipulative and deceitful." She blurted as my heart ached in anger as flashes of the ill-treatment everyone gave to me years ago played in my head.

I felt a sting from her words, but I knew I couldn't let her get under my skin, cause the plans at hand were bigger than her words and soon they all will fall at my feet for mercy. I thought to myself as I took a deep breath, calming my nerves.

"Tasha, I understand you're upset, but..."

"Upset?" Her voice rose interrupting mine again. "You think you can just walk back in here and expect me to roll over? You're a threat to everything I care about." She blurted out to my face moving steps closer.

My anger turned to panic. She's going to ruin everything. I thought to myself, I furrowed my brows. I have to do something before she gets her way with this. No one shatters my plan.

"Tasha, you know I won't get in your way, so please stay out of mine... Please. " I exclaimed, trying to reason with her, cause I knew she definitely would try to ruin my plans.

But then she smiled sweetly gazing me off her sight. "I'll be watching you, Sylvia. Don't think for a second you're safe here."

With that, she turned and left, leaving me freezed in thoughts on what next to do.
