CHAPTER 002

SYLVIA

My legs were wobbling as I stood in front of the crowd. Everyone's eyes were on me. I could see my step sister giggling from a corner of the room.

I covered my face with both hands and hurried out of the party room as soon as I could. I fell on the floor immediately after I got out of the room. Tears dropped down freely from my eyes. I was shattered.

I had lost my virginity to a bet.

I never expected it to end this way. So the prince never liked me. I was weeping as I felt the night cold hitting my bare skin. I began to feel feverish.

I looked down at myself and immediately realised that I was barely clothed.

I stood up and began walking towards home when I suddenly remembered that there was no way I could go back home.

I stopped in front of my house. I could feel cold sizzling through my whole body. I wrapped my arm around myself to reduce the cold feeling.

I knew that I could not return to my stepmother. There was no other person I could run to after leaving the house the way I did.

"The prince can't reject me like this. I must do something about it."

I turned around and began to drag my feet back to the room. I needed to convince the prince to take me back. He was the only one who could save me from my stepmother.

I walked into the hall as slowly as I could. I met the king dancing on stage with a particular slim blonde.

My heart began to throb in my chest. I could feel my blood pumping faster. I folded my fist and began to grit my teeth as I stared at the prince's hands firmly locked around her waist.

He turned to me for a second and continued dancing as though he could not see me.

"The air is polluted once again."

That was my step sister whispering to her friend. They both burst out in a loud roar of laughter. Others also joined in laughing as they began to whisper to one another.

The prince suddenly let go of the lady and faced me.

"What is wrong with you?" He asked me. "Why can't you let me be? What part of I do not want you, don't you understand?"

He walked down the stage and pulled me by the hair.

"Are you so desperate to become a Luna to the alpha? Do I look like a saviour to get you out of your miserable life?"

Tears rolled down my cheek as he disrespected me even more, but I would not back down.

"Please," I cried as I went on my knees and grabbed his feet.

He pulled them quickly, and I fell on my face to the floor. I forced myself to sit on the bare floor, even though I felt entirely weak. I was struggling to move my body.

"Please, do not reject me like this. Even if you do not want me to be your Luna, you can just take me in for now. I could even help with the chores in the palace, but please... do not send me back to my mother's house."

I didn't notice the unexpected silence in the room while I spoke until everyone present in the room burst out in a loud roar of laughter.

"Guards!" The prince called out his guards as he turned his back to me.

I was sobbing helplessly as I looked up at him. I hoped that the prince would have mercy on me. He would consider me for ones and out every other person to shame.

Two guards soon arrived in front of me.

"Take this thing far away from my party!" He ordered the guards.

"Enough!" Simon's voice came from behind the crowd.

Everywhere went dead silent as the only thing that was heard was his approaching footsteps. He walked towards us and stopped in front of the prince. He stared at the prince with anger in his eyes.

"Why do you have to treat her like she's a piece of trash?" Simeon asked the prince.

The prince didn't reply to him immediately after he asked the question.

"Does she look like some toy you can toil with and play with?"

"Who said you could speak concerning this issue?" The prince asked.

He began to take closer steps towards Simeon. He stopped in front of Simeon and leaned towards him as he grabbed his shirt.

"You do not have the right to talk to me about this... just like she doesn't have the right to stand where I am standing."

He pushed Simeon away, and he staggered backwards. The prince faced the guards once again.

"Take her away from here!"

Both of them walked towards me and tried to lift me up.

"Let her go!" Simeon commanded the guards.

He walked towards me and pulled me up. I felt so much energy from Simon's body transfer to mine as he lifted me to stand up to my feet. He dragged me out of the room as soon as I was standing straight.

"You do not have to beg a man to accept you, Sylvia," Simeon spoke softly to me. "Let go of him. You already made the mistake of falling for his trap. Now, you have to think of a way to get out of this."

"I just can't go back to my house. My stepmother would kill me."

"I'll take you to my grandmothers place. You can stay there until you are ready to go back to your stepmother."

I shut my eyes tightly. Everything that had been said and done against me began to replay in my head. I was trembling, but this time not in fear, but in anger.

I felt paine. I felt the urge to take revenge on those who hurt me. I wanted to kill every single one of them. Those in the party who laughed at me. I wanted to kill the prince, too. I wanted to kill my sister and her mom.

"I don't want to stay on any property that belongs to you or anything that relates to the prince. I would be fine on my own."

I began walking away from the scene. I made up my mind that I was going to leave the pack house for good. I would find a life outside this palace.

As I walked towards the gate of the pack house, an arm grabbed me firmly from behind. I turned around to see Simeon standing behind me.

"I don't want anything with this family or the bloodline."

"I can't leave you alone like this, Sylvia. I feel like I owe you. I need to make sure you're safe. I need to bring you to safety, Sylvia."

I shut my eyes as tears began to drop down my cheek. I couldn't stop myself from thinking about what transpired between the prince and I. Simeon would only keep reminding me of the prince if he was with me.

Yet, I knew that I could not do it alone. I needed him. I slowly nodded my head with my eyes tightly shut. I couldn't do it alone. Where would I start? How would I even survive? I needed somewhere to stay for a while, until I was able to gather myself. Only then would I be able to leave there.

I wanted nothing with the prince or anyone from this bloodline, but this was the only way I could survive. I made of my mind on what I wanted.

"I think I would go with you if that's what you want."

"No, you won't!" An angry voice replied from behind.
