Tanya's POV I turned around to see a man with dark hair. I squinted for a while, trying to figure out who he was, before realising he was the same man. “What do you want, Dante?” I asked. “Well, I think I’ve just made it,” he said, giving me a strange expression. “And don’t ever call me Dante again. Tanya's POV "Please stop," I cried out, seeing that they were very serious about killing him if I didn't cooperate with them. Enzo raised his hand and looked at me. "Do you have anything to say to me?" he asked. "You know exactly how to make me stop. It's not with just one word." "Please," I said, "don't kill him." "Tell me what you know," he responded. "That's the only thing that can save him now. His life is in your hands." "I don't know anything," I responded. "He doesn't let me in on his secrets. Even if I have anything to tell you, it won't be something tangible you can use." "Is that what you thought to tell us when you came here?" he asked me. "Is that the one thought you had in mind? Rodrigo's POV The police were doing their best to help me find her; at least, that was what they told me. I was forced to leave their office without knowing what they were doing to see her. How could I be sure that they were putting in any effort at all when I couldn't be told exactly what they were doing? "Trust us on this," the lady said, escorting me out of the place. It was all I could do to stop myself from glaring at her when she said those words. I wasn't about to trust anybody on the matter concerning Tanya. She was the one person I loved, and just after I confessed my feelings to her, she was taken away from me. I entered my car without turning to look at the policewoman anymore. I did not need to make myself angrier by looking at her. If I did, I would only feel as if I had wasted a lot of my time—valuable time that could have been spent looking for her. "You'll find her. Tanya's POV I could feel beads of sweat dripping down my neck, along with the eyes of everybody in the room on me. I took a deep breath, not knowing what to do. I was more or less sworn to protect the information about Rodrigo and not betray him, even if I was threatened with a gun. But what was I supposed to do when the threatened person was not me but my father? It was going to be a total ruin if he died because of me. "What are you going to do?" he asked me. "Are you going to talk or what?" I knew that I didn't have much time. If I kept on stalling like that, it would only be delaying the inevitable. The bad part was that I had everything to lose, while the men had nothing to lose. They could wait until the next day, and I would still be nowhere near where I was now. I was very confused. I couldn't let him die, and I couldn't let them get the information either. The worst part was that I couldn't keep sitting on the wall. I needed to pick a side and stick with it. T

Tanya POV Even as I said it, I knew it would not be enough. I was once again beating about the bush and trying to say anything just to stop them from killing him immediately. He seemed to realize it because he looked at me as if I was trying to get him killed. I looked away, knowing that the men were no fools either. It would not be long before they realized what I was trying to achieve, and then he would be dead. I wish there were another way, I thought to myself, but I can't let them have that information. "Are you done talking?" he asked me. "You haven't given me anything valuable yet. You seem not to want him to survive. Do you know that you are next after him?" I said nothing, hearing the countdown from 5 to 1 repeat itself in my mind. It was not going to be long before he died from the way things were going. "Please stop," he said. Tanya's POV I cried all I wanted, but no one seemed to care. Nobody came to check on me for the next few hours, giving me enough breathing space. I couldn’t help but look at his body once in a while, feeling the guilt weighing on me. If I had given them the information they wanted, it wouldn’t have happened this way. “It’s my fault,” I said to myself. “I should have told them. Now he’s dead because of me.” I somehow expected something to happen, but after waiting for a long while, there was still nothing. The room would have been empty if not for his body in the corner. I was starting to get disgusted by it. It was not only disgusting me but haunting me. I needed it out of here if I would stay by myself. “I can’t sleep with you staying here,” I said to him with a sad expression. I rushed up to the door and banged on it, trying to get it to open. “Hey, guys!” I called. “Come and take his body away!” I did this for a couple of minutes until I got tired. I was also hungry now

Tanya's POV He ordered for food to be brought to the room. I didn't want to eat, even though I was very, very hungry; my appetite left me at the moment Henry died. "Get a table and some furniture also," he said to the people he kept ordering about. I didn't know whether they were his slaves or whether they were paid to do it, but they seemed to serve happily. "I wonder what the hierarchy here is," I said to him, wanting to strike up a conversation until he was ready to tell me what he wanted. "It is quite nice," he said, "but it is none of your business. You do not need to think about or bother yourself with it." Seeing that he would not tell me about it, I decided not to ask him again but started thinking about another way to keep him off the topic of my eating. I didn't want him to ask me why I did not want to eat because it would make it difficult for me to abstain. He might even try to force me, for all I knew. Soon, the table was set. Tanya's POV He seemed to enjoy my resistance because he smiled at me. "I think the conversation has lasted enough," he told me. After saying that, he stood up and gave me a particularly disturbing look. "I will be back, but now I have to make a call." He started moving away with his phone but then stopped. "On second thought, you should hear what I wanted to say to the other person," he said. "Don’t think you can scare me," I responded. "I have seen a lot of things in my life, and plenty of them are scary. Whatever you are planning to say to the other person can't possibly move me." "Who said I was trying to scare you?" he asked.
