Chapter Twenty Seven

Exhaling loudly, I stopped running after realizing I was far from the pack house. I looked through the dark wood, as the thought of going back home crossed my mind, but I knew my stepfather would not hesitate to send me back. The pack wasn't safe either as I could easily be found.

The woods was really dark. However, I was able to thread through it with the help of my night vision. The feeling of having a wolf was once again nice, and this brought questions I always had for Kyra but I never seemed to ask, because I was either too busy to ask or trying to understand why Alpha Jared wished to reject me.

I had the time now, so I reached out to Kyra who was wide awake and helping me make my way through the woods.

"Where were you all this while?" When I clocked sixteen, I patiently waited for her to surface, but she didn't and that was the needed age to get your wolf. I heard there and I wanted to know mine, but the reply she gave shocked Byme.

"It's because of the wolfsbane."

"Wolfsbane?"
