Chapter Twenty Six

AVERY

As I walked out of the infirmary, loud sigh escaped my lips. The doctor's words echoed in my mind, refusing to sink in. Hearing I was pregnant, was hard to believe until Kyra attested to it. She said she had been feeling strange and heavy since the past few days, so being pregnant was a possiblity. But I couldn't wrap my head around it. How can I be pregnant? It's possible, but.... not after what I heard from Mia. Am I going to get killed too? And the pup– even though it's unexpected, I can't let it get killed.

Placing my hand on my stomach, I moved it around, hoping to feel the pup, but there was nothing. He is probably still small.

"Avery!!" I looked ahead to see Mabel staring at me angrily.

"Are you going to take dinner to Alpha Jared or you want me to come get you?!"
