I nodded, as I was feeling a mix of different emotions. The nurse's enthusiasm was infectious, but I couldn't let go of the fear and uncertainty that had been plaguing me since I discovered I was pregnant.
The nurse seemed to sense my unease, and her expression softened. "Don't worry, we'll take good care of you and the baby," she reassured me. "But I do need to ask, have you experienced any complications or issues during your pregnancy so far?"
I hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But the nurse's kind and gentle manner put me at ease, and I found myself opening up to her about my symptoms and concerns.
The nurse listened attentively, her expression growing more serious as I shared my concerns. When I finished, she nodded thoughtfully and made some notes in her book.
"Don't worry, we'll run some tests and make sure everything is okay," she said reassuringly. "But in the meantime, I want you to take it easy and get plenty of rest. Can you do that for me?"
I nodded, feeling a bit of relief . It was nice to have someone to talk to, someone who understood what I was going through.
The nurse smiled and patted my hand. "Good. I'll come back and check on you later, okay?"
I nodded again, and the nurse turned to leave. But just as she reached the door, she turned back to me with a serious expression.
"One more thing," she said quietly. "I know you're worried about the guard finding out about your pregnancy. But I want you to know that I'll do everything in my power to keep your secret safe. Okay?"
I nodded, feeling a surge of gratitude towards the nurse. She was not only taking care of my physical health, but also my emotional well-being.
Moments later, I stood up to try to go to the bathroom. Just then, the guard entered.
"Hey, ma'am, be careful," the guard said, rushing to my side and helping me walk. I smiled, nodding my head in appreciation.
"You should have called instead of trying to do it by yourself," the guard said, walking with me to the bathroom.
I nodded again, indicating that I wanted to take care of my personal business alone.

As I closed the door behind me, I felt relief . It was nice to have a moment to myself, away from the guard's watchful eyes.
I took care of my business, then washed my hands and splashed some water on my face. As I looked in the mirror, I noticed that I looked a bit pale and worn out. The stress and anxiety of the past few days were starting to take their toll on me.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I knew I had to be strong, for myself and for my unborn child.
As I opened the door to leave, I saw the guard standing outside, his eyes scanning me with concern. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice low and gentle.
I nodded, forcing a smile onto my face, trying to reassure him. But as I looked into his eyes, I saw a flicker of doubt there. He didn't believe me.
I nodded slightly, acknowledging his concern, but still unable to speak. The guard's eyes stayed on mine, as if searching for some hidden truth.
As he helped me back to my bedside, I felt a bit of gratitude towards him. Despite his tough outside, he seemed to have a kind heart.
The guard pulled up a chair beside my bed and sat down, his eyes never leaving mine. "I'll stay here with you for a while," he said, his voice low and gentle. "You don't have to say anything, just rest."
I nodded again, making a deep breath of relief. The guard's presence was comforting, and I felt safe with him by my side.
As I lay back in bed, the guard reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair out of my face. His touch was soft and gentle, and I felt calm and silent.
I closed my eyes, letting the guard's presence soothe me, and soon I drifted off to sleep.
As I slept, I was not aware of the guard's presence beside me. I could sense his eyes on me, watching over me, and it was a comforting feeling.
After a while, I stirred and opened my eyes to find the guard still sitting beside me, his eyes fixed on mine. He smiled slightly when he saw that I was awake, and I felt gratitude towards him and safe.
The nurse came in to check on me, and the guard stood up to let her examine me. As she checked my vital signs and asked me some questions, the guard stood by the window, looking out.
When the nurse finished, she smiled and patted my hand. "You're doing well," she said. "Just rest and take it easy."
The guard turned back to me, his eyes scanning my face. "Do you need anything?" he asked, his voice low and gentle.
I shook my head, feeling contentment. With the guard by my side, I felt safe and protected.
The guard broke the silence in the room, saying, "The alpha is worried about you."
The nurse paused, looking shocked, and asked, "You know the alpha?"
The guard replied, "Yes...I was wondering, how did I end up as the one guarding you? You must have had a lot on your mind with all the medical issues you've been dealing with."
The nurse intervened, saying, "Hey, be nice! That's not how you talk to a lady."
The guard looked embarrassed, apologizing, "Sorry, ma'am. I didn't mean to be rude."
The nurse smiled, accepting the apology, and turned back to me and said. "Don't worry I know you can be a little rough around the edges."
I smiled weakly, feeling a bit more at ease. The guard, seeming to sense my unease, spoke up again.
"Ma'am, I promise I'll do my best to take care of you. The alpha would want me to make sure you're safe and comfortable."
I looked up at him, curious. The alpha? What does he have to do with me again?.
"But why the care by the alpha?" The nurse asked.
The guard hesitated, looking at the nurse before responding. "I'm not supposed to say anything, but...let's just say the alpha has much interest in her well-being."
With that lead me to the question why is my relationship with the alpha increasing like this to even the point his interested in my well being?
