JIMMY'S REALITY CHECK

When they returned to the house, Jimmy and especially Lily was so excited that they went straight to the bedroom, changed, and slept. the night was long for Jimmy he was trying to comprehend both issues of being a father-to-be and also having a sick father-in-law at the same time and discovering both the good news and the sickness at the same time. Lily was very exhausted both physically and mentally and all they did was go and sleep for Lily sleep just came automatically and she was first asleep as soon as she put her head on the pillow. For Jimmy, it was a lot to handle, and felt he needed to talk to somebody Ken his buddy was the best person to share with. He called Ken who answered immediately and asked if he was sleeping Ken said no fact I am in the study room there is some paperwork I am doing. Jimmy thought talking on the phone could be a lot stressful why don’t they meet in a pub which was cross by about ten minute's drive between his house and Ken's house since they were almost neighbors in fact if it was during day one could walk to each other house. Jimmy suggested he has a lot weighing on his shoulder and since Lily is fast asleep why don’t they meet over a beer and talk? He wanted to really share his burden and maybe Ken would give him a solution. He wrote a text they were meeting with Ken at bridges and also Ken texted Tina that he would be meeting Ken at bridges they needed to talk over a drink. Jimmy dressed in a tracksuit and drove his vehicle to bridges pub when he entered Ken had already packed his vehicle and had already booked their private room where they would have their drinks and talk without interruptions. When Jimmy entered the pub Ken was already ordered the beers and the waiter did not waste time to come and opened the bottle. Jimmy drank the beer like water bottoms up, took the second bottle, and drained it down his throat without hesitation. Hi, men W******p? You look like you have come from space carrying a trunk on your back. Yeah man, I feel like I am carrying a heavy load and it's too heavy on my shoulders that’s why I need you guys to help me. I am in a spot that I have never anticipated being in or thought would be possible in my life. Hi men why are you speaking in parables I don’t understand you. Jimmy replied oh men I forgot to call Lewis I wish he was with us. Suddenly the door opened and Lewis got in Ken exclaimed talk of the devil and it appears I had received his call on my way here and I invited him to join us. That was very thoughtful of you I forgot to call you man but you are welcome.

You sound so serious is anything the matter with Lily is she sick what is happening don’t tell me that Jack has struck again no no Lily is fine infact I have left her sound asleep. Alone no her mother is in our house she will be spending her time there for sometime, don’t tell me Mr. Parker decided to go South he could have relaxed because there are people taking care of business. Jimmy replied that is where the issue is Mr. Parker is gone but we don’t know for how long? We had lunch together with Lily and her parents then went to the office to sign the documents. Mr. Parker signed the documents and we left them with your assistant Lewis you follow it from there. The other evening after the party we had a talk with Mr. Parker men to men and it was tough. Lewis said you are keeping us in suspense. Yes, we had a conversation because Mr. Parker is sick and he wanted Jack's ass to take over the business from him. His wife has blood pressure and the daughter Lily is not business oriented which is why he wanted to marry her off. But he is glad I am with Lily now and he feels that he can rest in peace his words knowing that his family is well taken care of. Right now as we are talking he’s admitted to the hospital when we took him to the doctor for a checkup it turned out that he was indeed ailing and had to be admitted immediately for observation awaiting chemotherapy which the doctor is looking in a way of booking him soonest he’s having liver cancer and it seemed to be advanced. Men, it's tough we feel you but we are there to support one another for the better or worse count on us Lewis said.

How’s Lily taking it? Ken asked that is another issue Lily was oversleeping every time, I thought I was exhausting her so when we went to the office she sneaked to the extra room and slept. Her mum asked if that is the way she was behaving and I confirmed yes but I thought I was the one exhausting her so when we went to the hospital she told me we have a pregnancy test done she might be expectant. We did and it turned positive. Congrats men, thank you but that’s another issue she’s fragile her mum has blood pressure I am now the sober one to take care of papa. Papa? Did Lewis ask? Yes, he is like a father I never had. Do it men Ken told him to tap your blessing you meet Lily for a reason.

Just then Jimmy’s phone rang he answered it wondering who could be looking for him at that hour. Are you Mr Jimmy he said yes I am calling from the hospital Mr Parker had a convulsion and we require the next of kin immediately please come soonest. Jimmy was left dampfounded and Lewis who followed the conversation said what are we waiting for lets go to the hospital, Please Ken go pick Lily and her mother they are the next of kin. Lewis told the waiter to send him the bill and they rushed out of the hotel Jimmy and Lewis to the hospital and Ken picked up Lily and her mother. On the way, he picked Tina to join them so that she can be their strength and console them if they were praying nothing bad happens.
