PARKER IN THE HOSPITAL II

Mr. Parker was transferred the following day to a normal ward where people were able to visit him. His wife Sally was with him most of the time but one day she was exhausted and Lily urged her to go home and freshen up and relax for some time otherwise she would be the next patient if she doesn’t take care of her health. Lily was with Jimmy and they promised to take care of him on her behalf. After Sally was assured that Parker was in good hands with the daughter and Jimmy she left with the driver to have a break her eyes had dark circles because of lack of sleep.

Lily was waiting to have time with her dad so that she can give him the good news that they were having a baby. The dad woke up they assisted in feeding him and Lily told him that he needed his strength so he has to force himself to eat at least a little bit to gain his strength back. Although Parker was hesitant to eat Lily was able to convince him and he ate to the fill then he started asking Jimmy about how the business was doing. Jimmy explained only what was necessary he didn’t want to fill him with many mambo jumbos.

When they were settled Lily told her dad that she had some good news to tell him are going to be a grandpa very soon. What did you say my daughter Parker asked, Jimmy, replied we are pregnant and you will be a grandpa very soon. Parker smiled he was excited hugged both Lily and Jimmy telling them congratulations and then said the news calls for a celebration after he is discharged from the hospital. 

He then rang the emergency bell and when the nurse answered he asked for the treating doctor. When the doctor came very concerned about what could be the matter Parker asked him when he will be discharged because he needs to go and celebrate his grandchild who is yet to be brought into the world he sounded excited. So the doctor took advantage of the situation and told him to take his prescription and eat which was normally an issue with him and he will be out of the hospital soon and back to his wife's side like he normally used to say on daily basis. Then he was given medication and slept.

The doctor left and Jimmy’s driver came back he came to report he was back from dropping Sally. Jimmy instructed him to drop Lily who was dozing off and since Mr. Parker was sleeping and he had not had a meal for a day he decided to go to the café and have some coffee and a snack. But when he was ordering he was asked if he would take the coffee there or if it was a take away, a feeling told him to say it is a take away. Since Mr. Parker's ward was private he could do his work on the couch. He told the waiter to pack him the coffee and the snack and he left for the ward. Just as he was entering he saw someone who dressed like a doctor want to enter and Jimmy called him because there is something he wanted to clarify with him. Doctor hi I wanted to find out then the guy started running so jimmy dropped his coffee and sensed danger and ran after the fake doctor he hit him on the back and he feels down the security guards saw the commotion and came to assist Jimmy and caught the intruder.

When the security alarm was raised and the guards got hold of the intruder Jimmy went to see if Mr. Parker was alright then he called Lewis and Ken and informed them of the happening Lucky enough nothing bad had happened to Mr. Parker and when the intruder was caught and the police came and started interrogating him he said he had been paid by Jack and was instructed to inject some drugs on Mr. Parker lucky enough Mr. Jimmy had not gone for long to take the coffee. He was held in the police station and the drug he was to inject Mr. Parker was taken to the government chemist for analysis there was a motive of murder as the police told Jimmy and now Ken and Lewis who had joined him.

Lewis requested the hospital administration to have their private security since the culprit was still at large they were granted the request Mr. Parker was transferred to a private ward there were three guards near the entrance and two hidden near the gate. No one could note them since there were in civilian clothes. Lewis and Jimmy now engaged with the detectives and explained what had happened and the intention of killing Mr. Parker was because Mr. Jack wanted his wealth at all costs. Lewis swore I will get hold of the jackass and teach him not to mess with the Kings dynasty. Jimmy requested the news to remain between the men and not to inform the ladies since it will make them panic.

Lewis added security in their residence and the driver who was driving either of the women would have an added security vehicle that would tail them for security details. 

When Lily came the following day and noticed the ward her father was different when she asked Jimmy he said the other one was smaller in size and getting congested especially since he was having more visitors every day which made sense. Lucky enough Mr. Parker also didn’t know what happened that night since he was sleeping. Jimmy counted his lucky star because right now they could be talking about another story. The chemical they were intending to inject Mr. Parker was lethal and he would have died only after five minutes after receiving it. The family could have lost a father and a friend just because of a greedy family. Mr. Parker was discharged from the hospital after recuperating and he joined his wife in Jimmy’s and Lily’s residence. He wanted to go back home but his wife told him not to be stubborn. When he insisted on going Jimmy called him alone and told him they take a walk in the garden and explained to him what transpired and how he survived in a whisker. After that, he understood it was risky to go to his residence, especially if Jack is still at large.
