Chapter eighty nine

Kathy observed as Dominic skillfully peeled the apple, his slender fingers gliding through the apple's glowing red skin. After a moment, she spoke up.

"Dominic,"

"Yes?" Dominic finished tidying up the apple peels, expertly sliced the fruit into pieces, and placed them in a bowl.

Kathy retrieved a fork from the cantaloupe they had just eaten, speared a piece of apple, and offered it to Dominic.

With a slight smile, Dominic accepted the apple from Kathy's hand and took a bite.

"Is it delicious?" Kathy inquired.

"Mm," he nodded in approval.

Seeing Dominic enjoy the apple, Kathy felt a sense of relief wash over her. She studied Dominic's face intently before expressing her thoughts.

"Dominic, I've been cooped up at home for days now."

"I understand. I've been with you every day, haven't I? Feeling bored?" Dominic asked as he wiped the blade of the fruit knife with one hand and a wet wipe with the other.
