Chapter eighty eight

Dominic contemptuously tossed the fish in his hand onto Maricela's face, then retrieved a piece of paper from his pocket to clean his hands before gently touching Kathy's face with a mix of guilt and concern.

"It's nothing, just a scratch from a dog," Kathy managed a small smile at Dominic, though the searing pain on her left cheek made her clench her teeth.

Dominic felt a surge of heartbreak and anger.

"Maricela!" Maricela's mother witnessed Dominic striking her daughter and, feeling a combination of sadness and fury, she didn't hold back as she turned to confront Dominic, "You despicable wretch! How dare you harm my daughter! Just because you're a CEO doesn't grant you the right to act with impunity! Is there no justice left in this world? I will contact the authorities immediately!"

"Call the police?" Dominic scoffed in rage.

He hadn't yet settled the score with them, but they were hastening towards their demise.
