Chapter 15

The car sped down the highway. I was in Blake’s arms, while Xena sat in the passenger seat.

I had done everything I could to stall them, and finally, I saw the flash of police lights in the rearview mirror. I had called 911 the moment Leo started driving off the usual route.

Panicking, Blake knocked Felix unconscious and dragged Xena and me into his car.

In the darkness, Blake let out a cold laugh. “Xena, I’ve given you so many chances, and this is how you repay me? Impressive.”

Xena was trembling. “Blake, I did exactly what you asked. I brought her out for you!

“Please, for the sake of our parents, don’t make this harder for me.”

Blake scoffed, his voice deep and threatening. “You’re useless as a pawn and a failure as a tool. I’m done with you.”
